The Cast

LAINA and her almost eighteen-year-old twin brother, Will, bounced around Ontario from foster home to foster home after their mother went crazy. Until, that is, their grandfather found them and raised them. Laina is thinking about regular teen problems when a Valkyrie flies into their lives and tells them that they are from a magical world called Htrea, they have a sister, and one of them is destined to fulfill a prophecy that could save two worlds. She goes on an adventure to a place she thought only existed in her dreams. But what will it be like having a sister? And is she tainted? Her magic doesn't seem to work. Can she discover her powers before it's too late?

WILL

Something has been happening to Will lately that he hasn't even been able to tell his twin sister, Laina. He's stronger and faster than any teenage boy has a right to be. So when an angel falls from the sky and tells him he could be instrumental in saving the world, he knows he needs to help. But will his feelings for the beautiful Valkyrie get in the way of his mission?  And why won't she look him in the eye?

ROWAN

 At only 22, Rowan is a rebel leader, a calculating general in a guerrilla war against the evil Emperess of Htrea. She's also the princess and heir of the throne of Aary, a kingdom that has been ransacked. As the long lost, or more accurately, left behind sister of Will and Laina, and a master of kinetic and elemental magics, she has been tasked to help them discover their powers. But while Will and Laina were growing up on Earth, she was imprisoned by the Empress and was almost burned at the stake –she has the scars twisting up her right side to prove it. No one seems to think she's the prophesied one even though she might be. And her best friend, Joel, keeps looking at Laina in a way that he has never ever looked at her. Will she be able to put aside her resentment and jealousy to help lead a revolution?

SKY

Daughter of a Wyrd (also known as Morai or Fates), the callous Goddess Urur, Sky refuses to follow in her mother's footsteps and instead has gotten her wings as a Valkyrie on the battlefield. But the Gods and Goddesses have cursed her for intervening to help humankind and the cost is almost more painful than she can bear.

JOEL

Wizard Jorah, also known as Joel, is an orphaned son of the Blight and also one of the most powerful wizards in the universe at the age of only eighteen. He has the gift for four of the five schools of magic in existence and has mastered three of them, something that has been unheard of since the Golden times. He's a sailor, a charmer and a flirt on the run from the Empire. But the stubborn Laina leaves him wanting more than just a fling. Does he have time to pursue her in the middle of a war for their lives? And would it mean losing his best friend, Rowan?

THE WINNIFREDS

Winnie, Fred and Fredrica are curly, kinky-haired thirteen-year-old triplets who only want three things: 1) To show people they aren't Tainted (just because they all have to work together for their magic to work doesn't mean they aren't witches), 2) to make their magic work without having to work together and 3) to be fighters in the rebellion instead of being students in their covert school for Children of the Revolution, COTR.
