My mind raced back and forth from last night to now. I knew I had to tell Hal or it would eat me alive. And not just tell her about the fact I had sex with Talia, but I had to tell her I had lost my virginity to Hal herself and that Talia had thought I had lost it to her. I had really fucked myself over on this one.
"What are you trying to say, Luke?" Hal questioned with a puzzled look as I saw Calum out of the corner of my eye start to back away.
"Hey Ash, let's go back inside," he suggested to Ashton as the confusion on Hal's face grew.
"What's going on?" She spat while crossing her arms and glaring at me. By now she knew something was up and that it definitely wasn't good.
I took a deep breath and swallowed the spit that had been pooling up in my mouth. Then, I finally found the breath to speak. "Last night I was so drunk, okay? And this girl-"
"Luke?! You're still here?" A high pitched, annoying squawk interrupted me from the front door. This time I looked up. I was in fear that the voice belonged to the person I sure as hell wished it didn't. Talia.
Calum and Ashton had barely even reached the front door before she had appeared and made everything worse. Calum looked modified, as did Ashton who I believe was definitely catching on to the situation here.
"Luke!?" Talia waved at me since I hadn't responded to her. She made her way down the steps and past my car, right up to my face. "You just couldn't leave me, could you?" She giggled and crossed her arms with a large amount of cockiness. "No seriously, why are you still here?"
"Luke...?" Hal squinted at the girl that was completely unfamiliar to her. "What is she talking about? Who is this?"
"The question is who are you?" Talia sassed back, keeping her arms crossed and staring Hal up and down.
"Luke's girlfriend!" Hal shouted and then her eyes grew wide. "I mean... ex girlfriend," she corrected herself in a much smaller voice. I shook my head.
Talia gave a wicked laugh. "As if. I was told Luke hasn't dated a girl in two years." That's when I realized when Cal had first met Talia he had probably told her all about my love life...or lack thereof. But that had been before he had caught on to the whole new concept of me and Hal. Talia simply didn't know about that.
"Oh really? And who exactly do you think you are?" Hal shot back, crossing her arms and mirroring Talia.
"Well, I think I'm the girl he had sex with last night," Talia chirped, raising an eyebrow as I almost fainted at the fact Hal was going to be finding this out from her.
At first, Hal was speechless. Her eyes shot back and forth from me to Talia in complete and utter shock. Her bottom lip that was its naturally peachy color trembled. "No, Luke wouldn't..." She shook her head in disbelief.
"I think he did, hun." Talia smirked and reached over to grab my arm. I pulled away as fast as I could. I hated her so much right now, and I wished she would just disappear forever. "Luke!" She pouted over my actions.
"Hemmings, is this true?" Hal eyed me carefully. I noticed for the first time today she wasn't wearing much makeup. And something was telling me it was because she had cried most of it off in the past couple hours. My stomach flipped knowing I was just about to make her wash the rest of it away, too.
"Yes."
