"Hey what's wrong doll?" Steve's kind voice asked, concern evident in his voice.
"Nothing, I'm fine. It's nothing d-don't worry." You spoke sobbing right after.
"Hey, hey, don't cry you know I hate it when you cry." He said as he came and wrapped his arms around you. You crying even harder into his chest.
"I-i-it's just everyone's taking it hard on me y'know, I'm this terrible villain who doesn't belong in the avengers and makes the world a terrible place. And I'm sick of it, I read a article earlier on how Hydra agents would be better avengers than me." You said crying as Steve tried to keep calm but it was evident he was angry and upset.
"They couldn't be more wrong y/n, who saved New York by stopping Loki? or who saved over five hundred children and adults against ultron? And who got Bucky Barnes 'the man who was never going to remember and get better' remember and get better? You, you did, you've saved the world more times than anyone can remember." He told you wiping your tears away and kissing your head.
"Then why do they say all that stuff about me?" You questioned him.
"Because their jealous."
"Of what?" You exclaimed. "The fact that I've killed more people than I've met? Because I would be jealous of that too."
"No, because you have some of the most amazing powers in the world, you have every single power that the other avengers have, you've stopping more hydra bases than all of S.H.I.E.L.D. put together, you've only read articles, but ask anyone on the streets y/n, ask them what they think of the mighty s/h/n and I bet they'll say how much they admire and envy you. Okay so just... smile! Because that's what makes me the happiest."
"I love you Steve, thank you." You say smiling as he wipes away your tears.
"I love you y/n, it's okay." He replies as he plants a kiss on your lips.
