February 2nd, 1959. 11:04 am. Somewhere in Iowa.

"So you're still not speaking English to me?"

"Oui, tu suces."

"Why?!"

"PARCE QUE TU SUCES."

"I'm calling the police."

"Ou ton nouvelle copine."

"New girlfriend?"

I nod.

"We met last night! We aren't offical yet. I'm gonna call her when we get to the place." Dion smiles. Did I just witness Dion fall in love?

"Hey, uh, Vi?" Ritchie turns from the seat beside Buddy and I.

"Yeah?" I look to him.

"I think I'm getting sick." He says.

I frown. "Come here, let me see if you have a fever." Thank God Buddy has the window seat.

Ritchie scoots closer to our seat and I put my hand on his forehead.

Wow, okay, that's a hot forehead.

"Yeah, you have a little fever." I remove my hand. "What else has been going on?"

"I've been sniffling and coughing."

"Sounds like a common cold." I say. "Here, I have some medicine."

Buddy hands me my purse and I reach into it, grabbing a bottle of pills. Hopefully it isn't my antidepressants.

I pull the bottle out and God damn it, they are my antidepressants. I quickly shove the bottle back into the purse and grab the other bottle.

I open it and pour out two pills and I hand them to Ritchie.

"These should make me feel better?"

I nod. "Yeah, in an hour or so."

"Thanks, Vi." Ritchie smiles.

"If you don't mind me asking," Bopper pops up from the seat behind us. "What happened that made you quit nursing?" Bopper randomly says.

"I was in a psych ward." I say bluntly.

Bopper raises his eyebrows. "Oh, uh, sorry."

I shrug. "No, it's okay, I don't mind talking about it with you guys."

I feel Buddy put his hand on my knee. Silent reassurance.

"Why were you in?" Fred/Carlo asks.

"I had some...issues. I was really depressed and a lot of other dumb stuff."

"Oh, that doesn't sound fun..." Fred/Carlo looks embarassed.

"It wasn't, but it really helped me. I figured out how to cope with stress and work past my issues from childhood."

"Are you okay now?" Fred/Carlo runs a hand through his hair.

I nod. "Yeah, I think I'm a lot better now."

"Hey, that's great!"

"You're telling me." I mumble. "I was way worse."

Everyone breaks into their groups. Atleast I don't have to relive Nelly's abuse.

"I have an unrelated question..." Ritchie says.

"Yeah?" I respond.

"So, uh," he lowers his voice. "Did you guys...hook up before you were offical?" He asks.
