Or What

"What are you doing?" I question, trying to pull my wrist away from her grip. She holds it tighter and doesn't respond. "Where are we going?"

"This is ridiculous, Y/l/n." She scolds, shaking her head, "You think you run this place? You think everyone's scared of you? Newsflash: you've met your match. I don't know why nobody stands up to you, but I will. Kicking people out of the school bathroom is rude, but having sex in it? That's against the rules. It's time you learned your lesson."

"What are you gonna do? Take me to the principal? He doesn't give a shit about me." I muse, and she stops in her tracks and glares at me. This might not be the best of times, but she's so hot when she's angry. She's beautiful when she's happy, don't get me wrong, but damn this is purely incredible.

"Who said I was taking you there?" She replies before pulling me towards a door at the end of the hallway.

We step outside and continue walking until we're in the parking lot.

Uh-oh.

"Where are we going!?" I try again, looking around as she leads me to a red Jeep.

"Get in." She says bluntly, letting go of me to climb into the driver's seat.

"Don't you have lunch duty?" I remind her so that she'll let me go. I'm honestly a little scared. I have no idea what she's planning, but she's obviously not very happy with me so it can't be a good thing.

"Fuck that. There are other teachers in there too." She grumbles, starting the engine as I close my door behind me, barely giving me enough time to put my seatbelt on before peeling out of the parking lot.

"No, fuck this. Where are we going? Tell me or I'll get out." I protest when we hit the road outside of school. She remains silent, but we're going to fast for me to get out so I huff and lean back in my seat, watching the world go by and wondering if it's the last time I'll ever see it. Okay, maybe I'm being a little dramatic.

She finally pulls up at some park, and I check the time to see that we're both about to miss class.

"Stay here." She tells me before stepping outside and calling someone. She leans against the car as she speaks into the phone. I only pick up a few words: 'unexpected', 'emergency', 'substitute', and a few 'yes's. Then she puts her phone away and opens my door, ushering me out.

"What is this all about?" I attempt yet again to pry an answer out of her, but receive nothing but a quiet 'follow me.' She seems to have lessened the rage she was feeling earlier.

I do as she asks, trailing behind her as she leads me into the park and through the trees. It'd be a little creepy, but for some reason, I feel at ease with her. A little anxious, perhaps, but mostly relaxed.

"I wasn't going to bring you here yet, but you need to see something." She says at some point along the walk.

When I hear running water, she turns off of the trail and soon we're heading up a hill, and she stops at the top. It takes me a moment to reach her but when I do, it's beautiful.

There's a waterfall on our left, flowing into a pool at its base, and at the right is a stunning view of the faraway town.

"You see that?" She asks, pointing at the skyline.

I nod, frowning.

"There're thousands of people over there. Each of them with their own life, their own stories." She begins to explain, "So why on earth would you act like you do at school? You're not big. You're not some powerful, intimidating person. You're an seventeen-year-old girl, Y/n. Just like everyone else who appears to worship you."

I sigh, hanging my head. I usually don't fall for bullshit speeches like these, but when it comes from Camila? I'm practically putty in her hands.

"You're going to graduate at the end of this year and I hope to god it's enough of a reality shock for you to turn out as a decent person instead of someone who moves on from their previous hookups to get with their teacher. I'm not some goal to accomplish. I hope you realize that."

In the last few sentences, her voice wavers, actually making me tear up.

"I know." I nod, "I know."

"Then why? Why do you flirt with and fuck every girl you lay eyes on? Why do you discard them like they're trash?"

"I-" I pause, sniffing, trying to lie, "It's just who I am."

"That's not true." She points out with a voice barely above a whisper, all anger faded. I feel a hand under my chin and she tugs me up to look at her. I clench my jaw and replace my mask.

"How would you know? You only met me last week." I retort, and she sighs.

"Because I was like you." Oh, the usual crap.

"Bullshit." I hiss, tugging myself away from her though she catches my hand.

"Y/n, please. I might not mean anything to you but believe it or not, you mean something to me. Please, do me the honour of trusting me." She basically begs.

My eyes fall to our hands, but she doesn't let go.

She thinks she's nothing to me, but the reason I'm putting up such a strong defence is because I don't want her to leave like everyone else who's known me has, besides Cara and my mothers of course.

I take a moment to breathe, looking out at the town once more, and she doesn't probe any further for a while.

"I do trust you." I admit, checking the floor beneath me before sitting down on a rock, "That's a big deal, believe me."

"Why?" She says softly as she sits beside me, the size of the rock meaning our shoulders brush against one another.

"It's a long story."I try to avoid the subject.

"I've got a long time." She fights back.

I hang my head again and pick at the grass. Am I about to explain my life in detail to her?

Yes. I care about her too much not to; Too much to leave her feeling hurt by my barbed-wire-topped walls that she's climbed without even trying.

"Okay..." I take a deep breath, "Here goes."

You know I love a good cliffhanger 😉

I wasn't even sure where this chapter was going to go until I wrote it already, so... what do you think?
