Jade's POV

The coffee was not hot.

At all.

It was really cold.

"Oh my god! I am so sorry! Please don't sue me!" A feminine voice pleaded.

I looked at the person.

A girl with red hair and brown eyes stared at the coffee stain on my clothes.

She looked so distressed and scared.

"Oh my god! I can't afford to be sued!" She freaked out.

"Hey, hey, calm down it's ok." I said. "It will wash out."

She looked at me in shock. "Really?"

"Yes. It's fine. It's not the end of the world. It is just a shirt."

"That is so nice! but I still feel bad. Coffee is hard to get rid of"

"Don't feel bad. I know how to get rid of coffee."

I smelled the coffee.

"Is that a Caramel white chocolate iced mocha with a hazelnut creamer?"

"How did you know? That's scary." She asked.

"It's my favorite coffee. I know that smell anywhere."

"It's my favorite too!"

She looked at me and tilted her head.

"Is there something on my face?" I asked.

"No. Sorry. I just have never seen you here before."

"Yeah, I came here for an interview."

The lady at the desk cleared her throat.

"If you are done with your interview you must leave the premises." She says.

I rolled my eyes.

She saw it and glared. "Leave before I call security."

"Let's go talk outside." The girl said.

"Don't you have to work?"

"No. I just came back to get something from my office but it can wait."

"Are you sure?"

She nodded.

"Ok."

We walked outside the of the building.

"Oh sorry, I haven't introduced myself." She said. "I'm Katie Smith."

She held out her hand.

I took her hand and shook it.

"I'm Jade Holt."

"Holt? That sounds familiar. Any relation to James Holt?"

I nodded. "He's my father."

"Wow! That is amazing! His rescue is legendary."

I smiled. "Yep. He's a hero."

"So what brings you to the city, besides the interview?"

"I just moved here, and the asshole giving me the interview tried to hook up with me."

"Was it Mr. Clark?" She asked.

"How did you know?"

"He did the same thing to me."

"Why didn't you call the cops? Or tell anybody?"

"He has money and power. He can get away with anything and then he would blame me."

"What happened? What did you do?"
