5-Stalker

Jade's POV

I sat down the box on the kitchen table.

"Stay back Katie. We don't know what's in here." I said.

"You heard the guy, it's from Jax. How harmful can it be?"

"He could have been lying."

"Why?"

"Maybe he was sent by the sniper to kill me now that I saved Jax."

"That's... logical."

"Stay back while I open it."

"What about you?"

"I'd rather it be me than you."

"Are you sure? What if it kills both of us?"

"Then it kills both of us." I said.

"Thanks. That's reassuring." She said sarcastically.

"Back up!"

She nodded and backed up to the corner.

The box was rectangular and it wasn't too big.

I carefully removed the top of the box from an arms distance.

My eyebrows creased.

"What is it?" Katie asked.

"It's my laptop."

"What?"

"That's impossible. The bullet went right through the middle of the screen."

I took it out and opened it.

The screen was in perfect condition.

Katie walked over to me.

"How did he fix it so quickly?" She asked.

"I have no idea."

"I guess he repaid you already." Katie said.

"He said he was going to replace it, and I told him not to."

"Wow. Looks like he's taken a liking to you." She smirked.

"Don't give me that look, I have terrible luck with men."

"Can't be any worse than my luck." She mumbled.

I looked at her. "Who hurt you?"

"Where do I begin?" She said with a fake smile.

I stared back at the laptop.

"How did he get my address? I moved here two weeks ago."

"Yeah, that's kinda creepy." She admitted.

I opened the laptop.

It looked brand new.

"You got a cute stalker on your hands." She nudged me.

I rolled my eyes at her. "Shut up."

Jax's POV

I saw Jade leave the shop.

How did she not know me?

I've never met someone who doesn't know me or my family.

Now that this happened she'll definitely look me up.

I didn't mean to spill her drink.

But when she didn't know me, I was hoping she'd be my friend.

Not for my money for me.

Now she's going to know about my money.

She'll want money.
