Chapter 38 - The Small Cooking School

Several Days after the college visits...

Reimako is trying her hardest to work out  which college she wants to attend but...

"Hmn...."

  I was about to enter the living room when i see her.  

She's sitting in the floor with a bulk of university pamphlets and brochure from the different university given to her by the members of the Famille', she seems to be complicated while making cute noises.

She drops her career form to the table.

(She seems to be frustrated...)

Going on that college visit did seem to have spurred her into action, but...

(I should give her some advice.)

"Hi, Rei is everything okay?"

"Oh! Hi, Mina...it's no use..."

"Huh? What is?"

"I can't decide what college to go to..."

"Because i don't even know that i want to do..."

"Well, that's a good point..."

(Choosing a college and a course to take is a life-changing decision after all.)

Then Ms.Mikahara appears and a wry grin drew on her face.

"I take it you're still having a hard time choosing a career path, Rei?"

"Yes, I can't seem to figure out what it is i want to do..." she replied

"Is that so...Maybe all you need is a change of scenery." Ms.Mikahara suggested.

(Hmn?)

"A change of scenery?"

Smiling Ms.Mikahara propose a plan.

"You see, this friend of mine has opened up a small cooking school."

"Oh! A Cooking School?" she replied enthusiastically.

It's Rei's kinda topic, and her eyes shine brightly.

"What about the cooking school?"

"Well...They are in a spot of trouble because they don't have enough teachers."

"Is that so..."

"Yes."

"So they asked me if i knew anyone who would be able to teach." she continued.

"Oh..."

Ms.Mikahara just silently stares at Rei who's seems to be not getting what Ms.Mikahara is implying.

A few seconds of awkward silence then...

"You, you didn't mean?" she surprisingly said.

"I do," she said with a happy note.

"Do you want to try teaching there, Rei?"

"W-w-w-waaa--whaaat?~~"

"M-Me? teach people how to cook?"

"Yes, it's a children's class so, I'm sure you would do just fine."

Rei's face flashes red as red as she can be.

"I-i can't I could never be a teacher..."

"Really? That's a shame."

"I figured that if you agreed to teach, i would let you have, Mina as your assistant."

"Huh?! Me? her assistant?~"

"That's right, Mina."

(Well i do know how to cook, and this might help her make something out of it,)

I understand what Ms.Mikahara is trying to do, she's trying to give her options and since she loves cooking she might as well take a career path in this.

(And i want to help Rei, as much as i could.)

"Would that be okay, Mina?" smirked Ms.Mikahara as if she already knew what my answer is.

"Y-yes, of course, i would love to be her assistant."

"If that's okay with Rei..."

Rei looks hesitant but.

"Not fair, Mina if you put it that way there's no way for me to reject it." she pouted.

"But, me running a cooking class together with Mina..."

"Is that a no, Rei?" grinned Ms.Mikahara.

"Let's do it Rei."

"A-Alright..."

"If, Mina is there with me...I'll give being a cooking instructor a try."

"Yes, of course, i will be there, We'll do our very best, right Rei?"

"Okay!" she smiled brightly.
