EARLIER THAT NIGHT

Taehyung's ready for the first day of convincing Jeongguk to love him again. He has everything set up in an attempt to recreate their first ever date. Taehyung has specifically asked for ice cream and burgers from their favorite burger joint, and he has asked his stylist to restyle his appearance to back then.

It's a hassle, but Taehyung will do anything for Jeongguk to love him again. He needs him.

He has to admit, it took awhile to actually get Jeongguk to come, but after their conversation, Jeongguk knows he set himself in a trap. So, Taehyung preps hard for this to be absolutely perfect, because Jeongguk deserves perfection.

When he hears the doorbell ring, Taehyung hops off his couch and to the front door. He peeks in the peephole first, a smile crawling onto his lips as he sees Jeongguk standing awkwardly behind it. The boy's dressed in full black — not that different considering this is a date from the past. Taehyung waits a bit before opening the door with a smile.

"Holy shit," Jeongguk says as he takes in Taehyung's appearance. Taehyung has swapped his Balenciaga, Gucci, and other expensive clothing for his old, cheap brands that he used to wear in college. He has also changed his hair back to his choppy bangs and dirt brown color, every part of makeup that's painted on his face erased.

He thinks Jeongguk will like it, but the look on the boy's face isn't what he expected. "Y-you look like the past," Jeongguk frowns. "Why did you change?"

"You don't love the supermodel me," Taehyung merely shrugs, but the terrified look on Jeongguk's face suggests otherwise.

"I never said that," The other pushes past Taehyung, and before he can say anything else, a big "what the fuck" leaves his mouth as he eyes their date.

"You remember still?" Taehyung nods as he shuts the door before moving to stand next to Jeongguk. "I didn't think you remembered," Jeongguk admits as he sits down on the couch.

"It's a bit different than my apartment." He follows his guest and plops himself down a good distance away from Jeongguk. Taehyung's unsure what to do at this point, but distance seemed acceptable.

"I know, you were a mess. There was books literally everywhere and clothes," A small smile slips onto Jeongguk's features, making Taehyung's own lips curl. "I don't think I can get used to cleaner Taehyung."

"Well, I changed a lot," Taehyung laughs. "I'm not a broke wannabe model anymore. I'm some famous supermodel who's done gigs for every major brand." In all honesty, Taehyung feels so much more alive than he has in months. Talking to Jeongguk this freely makes him enjoy his world more. Knowing this boy's in his life is enough to satisfy him.

"You're not the only who's changed," Jeongguk leans forward to get his diner basket of his favorite burger and fries meal. Taehyung follows in suit, hoping he isn't going to screw up somehow.

"How are you?" Taehyung asks as he throws a handful of fries into his mouth. It's all bad for his model body, but anything done with Jeongguk's good for his heart.

"I finally debuted," Jeongguk shrugs, bringing his burger close to his lips, "and I'm now a popular idol despite coming from a small company."

"Big Hit right?" The other nods as he moans a little at his first bite. "Hyung~ I'm so glad this burger joint isn't closed," Jeongguk says in between chewing, his mouth covered in greasy goodness.

"I'm glad you still love it," Taehyung chuckles to himself, a smile reaching the edge of his cheeks. "I miss you a lot Guk," he blurts out.

Jeongguk freezes for a second, the burger in his hands lowering back down until it sat in the red bowl. He barely looks at Taehyung as he puts the basket back on the table and reaches for a napkin to wipe his mouth. Taehyung's heart is skyrocketing in his chest as he hopes he hadn't scared the boy off. But Jeongguk still ceases his expectations, and the boy glances over at Taehyung with a smirk.

"You're not as cocky here unlike the chat," Jeongguk murmurs. "Are you pretending?" He queries, and Taehyung's suddenly palpitating. The older is unsure how to reply to such a question, but he takes a big gulp and mans up.

"No," Taehyung answers at first. It takes a second before his voice steadies. "I'm not. I don't want to scare you off honestly. I haven't seen you in months, and this is my literal chance to get you back."

"I love Yeri you know," The other crosses his arms over his chest. Taehyung has to admit he's a little pissed Jeongguk suddenly mentions her. He so desperately wants to tell Jeongguk what Yeri has done to be so unfaithful, but he bites it back with a tight smile.

"Okay, no need to remind me," He says a bit too cooly, and his tone earns a slightly concerned look on Jeongguk's features. "This is a friendly outing, I know. Yeri is your current girlfriend, and I'm the heartbroken ex." His voice is ice now, and Taehyung's ears are steaming red — anger.

"TaeTae," He hasn't heard that nickname in years, and that unexpected call makes his heart jump, relax almost, "There's no reason for me to break up with her."

"I love you. That's a reason," Taehyung rolls his eyes, his lips pushed into a frown. He stares at Jeongguk's now mature features, the image he used to have of Jeongguk's baby cheeks fading as he realizes the boy in front of him is different. This is harder than he expected.

"Not really," Jeongguk replies, his words hushed. Upon hearing this, something flicked a switch in Taehyung, something that enabled all his pent up frustration and anger for the boy to release. It took a second for Taehyung to act, and when he did, Jeongguk finds himself pressed against the couch, Taehyung straddling him.

"I vowed Jeon Jeongguk to get you back," Taehyung leans down until his lips are dangerously close. He can feel Jeongguk's breath fanning across his cheeks, the boy clearly dazed with what's going on. The other's eyes are so wide as Taehyung lowers himself until his lips are practically touching Jeongguk's cheek.

He murmurs, "You've pissed me off a bit Gukkie. I'm this close to not holding myself back, and I'm sure this is gonna be a bit freaky. So next time, don't piss me off, and if you do, I'll do so much more." Taehyung pecks Jeongguk's cheek and hops off of him, watching as the frazzled boy sits up.

"You changed a lot hyung," Jeongguk struggles to find his words, his daze making a smirk creep onto Taehyung's lips. "What happened to the old you?"

Taehyung shrugs, the smirk wider, "I'll say it again and again. You happened, and I'm sure not letting you go." The only thing that registers through Taehyung's mind at the moment is that this is one hell of a fucking first date.
