I'm starting to plan out the rest of this book. It's going to be a while before I finish it up but just letting y'all know that it will be coming to an end soon.

It was nearing Halloween as everyone started to get invitations to some of the parties that the seniors would be throwing. It was a Saturday and all Maya wanted to do was sleep in. Except Riley was way too excited to let her do that.

"I love Halloween! I told Auggie that you and I would take him trick or treating this year." Riley said excitedly.

"Riley, we do that every year." Maya grumbled with her face in her pillow. Riley shrugged her shoulders.

"I know. But I wanted him to know that even though we're in college now that doesn't mean that we will forget about him." Riley said as she sat down on Maya's bed beside her. "Now wake up!" Riley said as she pulled the pillow out from under Maya's head and hit her with it.

"Stop! It's Saturday and I have no classes. Let me sleep." Maya complained as she rolled over onto her side.

"We have to go shopping for costumes today." Riley told her friend as she got up and ripped the covers off of her.

"Halloween isn't for another two weeks. We have time to get a costume. There's always next Saturday." Riley rolled her eyes at her lazy friend.

"Yeah and then next Saturday you'll tell me, there's always Halloween night." Riley said as she tried to make her voice sound like Maya's.

"Can't we go later. It's nine in the morning." Maya whined as she covered her head like a little girl. Riley sighed.

"No because I promised my parents I'd come visit them today. Besides, I don't really want to see Lucas today." Maya raised her head up to look at Riley. Maya felt guilty about not telling Riley why Lucas wants to have her for both holidays. Maya sighed.

"Give me ten minutes to get dressed." She groaned causing a smile to form on Riley's face.

"I'm going to go get some coffee. When I come back you better be ready to go." Riley playfully warned as she backed up to the door and smiled before she exited the room. Maya sighed as she literally rolled out of bed.

"Ow." She groaned as she hit face first.

Ten minutes later, like promised, Maya was ready to go. She sat on her desk chair almost falling back asleep when Riley came into the room with both hands filled with coffee.

"'Maya!" Riley shouted causing Maya to jolt up and look at Riley. Riley had an amused expression on her face. "I guess this means I'll be driving." She laughed. Maya gave her a weird look.

"You don't have a car." She said.

"Josh is going to let us borrow his." Riley said as she handed Maya her coffee.

"Why?" For as long as Maya could remember, Josh didn't trust anyone with his car.

"I don't know. I ran into him on my way to get coffee. I told him we were going shopping and he offered it to us. He said we had to fill up the gas tank though." Riley grumbled as she rolled her eyes. Maya bit her lip as the California job came to her mind once again. It seemed like it was the only thing she could think about now days. "Maya." Riley said as she gave her friend a weird look. "What's going on between you two, anyway?" She asked curiously. Maya shrugged her shoulders.

"We're just friends." Maya said. Riley rolled her eyes. She grabbed her bag and stared at Maya.

"You know, I think he's learned his lesson." She said causing Maya to raise an eyebrow.

"What's that suppose to mean?" Maya asked confused. Riley sighed as she sat down on the bed.

"It means that Josh now knows what it's like to see you with someone else. He now knows what it would be like to loose you in his life. Seeing you with Simon is what brought him to realizing that he actually does love you and you're the one he wants to be with. Because he's felt that pain of loosing you I don't think he would ever hurt you again." Riley explained. Maya swallowed hard as she looked up at Riley.

"He got a job offer in California." Maya said as she licked her lips to keep them from being dry. Riley smiled sadly at her.

"I know. Mom and dad told me." Riley said as she put a hand on Maya's shoulder.

"He told me he wouldn't go if I asked him not to. He said he would stay if there was someone to stay for." Riley nodded her head.

"What are you going to do?" Riley asked her. Maya shook her head and shrugged her shoulders.

"I can't ask him to stay for me, that would be beyond selfish. FBI is all he's ever wanted and I can't keep him from doing what he wants to do." Maya shook her head.

"Maya let yourself be happy for once. For all the time that I've known you, you have always put others before yourself. Yes this is Josh's dream, but you are too. If you let him walk out of your life again then who knows if there will be another chance for the two of you." Maya swallowed hard and nodded her head.

"But if I hold him back from becoming an FBI agent then it might not ever happen again. I'm in a loose, loose situation here. The only right thing to do is to sacrifice what I want for what he needs." Maya said as she got up from her chair to grab her stuff.

"Maya that's not always true." Riley argued as she stood up as well.

"For me it is. I'm not going to be the reason that Josh wakes up one day and decided to leave because he can't stand the fact that I costed him his chance to be in the FBI." Maya told Riley as she tried her best not to cry.

"Maya, he's not your father". Riley whispered as she too was almost crying. Maya shrugged her shoulders.

"I'm not going to be the girl that holds him back, Riles. I wouldn't be able to live with myself. Now common, we have to find costumes." Maya said as she gripped her bag and walked out of the room. Riley sighed as she walked after her closing the door in the process.
