Lusca woke early before the others could and went to find Car. She was usually awake before everyone else since she didn't really have to sleep.
She was sitting in the living room on a strange couch made from dead jellyfish. Beneath the Ocean it was rather difficult to smell anything since they didn't really breathe and there were specific Merfolk who could preserve dead animals such as the carcass of a jellyfish, to use in furniture. The couch was more like a Human's bed made of water.
"Car, I need your help for a bit," Lusca said in a slight whisper.
Carmen noticed Lusca being secretive and asked, "What do you need my help with, Host?"
"We're going to the Human's territory. I need your help to navigate through the streets and begin my pursuit of bringing attention to the real threat the pollution has on the Ocean's ecosystem. Will you come with me?"
"Of course, Host. My duty is first as your system and second as a wife. Even if I wish differently, you're the reason I can have such an amazing Mate and life in the first place," Car said while blushing.
Lusca waved a hand as if to say 'I don't need any thanks'.
"Okay. Let's leave before anyone else wakes up. Moving in a large group will be to conspicuous."
Car nodded her head and both began traveling towards the island closest to the Merfolk settlement.
It took them nearly an hour and a half to reach the beach. In the distance they could see where the Ocean met the land but there were a few people enjoying the sun today. They needed to find someplace where the Humans wouldn't be 'relaxing'.
"Do you see anywhere we can enter the land from," Lusca asked Carmen.
Carmen's white hair breached the surface of the water and used her data assessing feature to find somewhere for them to enter the land unnoticed. She popped back down beneath the water after analyzing everything.
"A few miles east is a large outcropping of rocks and a cave. If you enter the cave and surface to change into a Human appearance, you can use the rock path to avoid the water and walk onto land without anyone realizing."
Lusca nodded his head in understanding and began swimming in that direction. His scales began shining lights from their reflection since they were so close to the surface and the sun was now able to shine on his body. Lusca had never been to the Human land previously so although he was used to being on land, it felt slightly strange and nerve wracking for this body.
"It's the cave right there," Car said as she pointed a bit to the left and Lusca was able to see the water stretch into a darker space.
He swam towards that area and surfaced after the sun disappeared from his body. They were now within a damp cave that had a few rock pathways on the sides.
"I'll pull myself up first and then pull you up with me," Lusca said to Carmen before gripping one of the rocks to hoist himself up. Once he had his bearings he leaned forward and stretched his hand out.
Carmen was extremely light since she was technically still a ball that weighed barely anything and Lusca had no problem bringing her on top of the rock with him.
"Thank you," Car said once she gained her footing.
"You're welcome. Hold on a second while I change my appearance," he stated before focusing his energy.
He felt the water move up his leg and cover his body before seeping into his skin and changing his looks. His hair was no longer blue but was now black, while the scales completely disappeared along with the blue of his sclera. Everything else stayed the same: His tanned skin, blue eyes, and lithe body build.
"Ready to go?"
"Yes. Let me know when you require my help, Host."
Lusca nodded his head as he pulled clothing from his System Space and exited the cave with Carmen following close behind him.
It took them a bit to get out of the rock forest that they seemed to have been lost within. Once they exited from it, the beach came into view and many of the people ignored them but some turned to stare at the strange foreigner who walked out of the large stack of rocks. Not many people venture into the rocks on this beach and so it confused some of the locals, they soon got bored though and turned away.
(Remember that they can't actually see Carmen so it simply looked as though Lusca stepped out of the rocks by himself and everytime he talks out loud he seems like a crazy person talking to himself. lol)
"I need you to tell me how to get to the Oceanic Wildlife Preservation Center from here, Car."
"Okay. Do you require transport or will we be walking?"
"How far is it from here?"
"It's fairly close since it deals with the Ocean. It would be strange had they been located further away," Car answered.
"We will walk then," he responded.
Car nodded her head and her eyes began flickering around quickly as she calculated the quickest route to reach the Center.
"It's about a thirty minute walk from here."
"Lead the way," he said.
Car took the lead and began walking with Lusca following closely behind. His black hair was swept to the side and trailed over his normal black t-shirt, leaving a small bit of water dripping on his blue jeans. This world was a 'modern' world so it didn't require him to wear any strange clothing like he had worn in previous worlds.
They traveled through the beautiful landscape filled with gorgeous fields filled with wildflowers, palm, banana, and coconut trees randomly interspersed; it gave the entire island the 'tropical' feel to it. There were even wild monkeys occasionally swinging from branches above their heads. Where they currently were at was a more 'wild' side of the island which hadn't yet been touched by the Humans.
Soon, in the distance, both Car and Lusca could see the large Oceanic Center. It had a sign with cut out dolphins and whales plastered on it. It was so large because behind the building was a sort of 'water center' that held creatures from the Ocean that needed to be rehabilitated.
Lusca felt slightly discomfited because of how far away the Ocean was from him but he sucked it up and, with steady steps, walked towards the front door of the building. Strange noises of the animals could be heard once he stepped inside. He had expected a lot of things walking into the building.
What he hadn't been expecting was bumping into the protagonist right away.

This is sort of how the MC looks right now with his Human looks.. you know, aside from the long cigarette thing and the robes or the strange mullet going on. Basically his hair color and face. >.> lol
