Zach never felt that scared in his two lifetimes. He didn't know what he was scared of either. Was he scared of bottoming? Scared of partnering with another man? Or just plainly scared of this annoying general?

He unconsciously trembled, he quietly cried at his place. Seeing Zach's tearful face, Gabriel's eyes slightly returned to its original green color. But a minute after, it became black again.

"Don't be scared, baby boy. I'm only going to help you." he said as he crept closer and closer to the shaking Omega.

Zach thought he would be rough and harsh, like the usual 'I'm Angry' and 'I'm the Dominant' Alpha temper. To his surprise, Gabriel only gently lifted him from the tub and gazed at him with love filled eyes. To say he was speechless was an understatement.

He never had someone to look at him like that. It was always the daughter love of Zarina and the friend's care of Karina. Never this.

Gabriel softly laughed at his overwhelmed expression, drying him with a towel. He gently placed Zach on the bed and then placed himself over him, effectively straddling the former lieutenant.

Zach struggled to get away but the pain makes him whimper instead. The general chuckled at his poor attempt and intimately touches the smaller's body instead.

His hands moved towards Zach's crotch, his touch lingering. The heat made Zach's body so sensitive, every touch of a dominant would feel so pleasurable and it eases the pain. However, it's barely enough and it left him craving more.

No matter how good it feels like, Zach is a man who has never been engaged in any sexual relationship with a man before. Something tells him that if this continues, hell will break loose. With this thought, he tried more to roll away from Gabriel.

"Sto... Stop..." he barely managed to say this amidst pains and the heat.

The general chuckled and Zach felt some metallic tasting liquid flowing down his throat. Because of the pain, he didn't notice his mouth being opened by Gabriel. A minute later, he felt the pain decreasing gradually and the heat he feels was gone. He become drowsy and opening his eyes used almost all his will to do. Nonetheless, he opens them and stared at the Alpha with a confused expression.

"I'm not like Walters or any asshole Alphas out there. That was my blood, it should be able to calm the heat down but you'll still feel pain. I'll mate with you when you're ready. Sleep for now baby boy." Gabriel states and kisses Lucas' forehead. Zach doesn't know if it's normal to feel comfortable and safe at that moment but he can't fight the overwhelming warmth he feels and falls asleep.

Gabriel smiled as he looks at the soundly sleeping figure with love and adoration.

'System!'

Zach woke up the next morning feeling a lot better than yesterday. There was still stabs of pain from time to time but it was much lighter than the one he experienced from the heat.

He looked at his body and suprisingly found out that he was dressed. There was a food tray with breakfast at his bedside table along with a note that says "Good morning baby boy, eat and rest well. I'm gonna be back after SOA's meeting. Love, Your Alpha Gabriel."

That Alpha had taken care of him, even made him breakfast. Despite the general's teasing of him the night before, Zach felt like that man really did care. He felt touched but at the same time, annoyed. "What 'Your Alpha'?! What 'baby boy'?! I didn't ask you to come back! You're not welcome!"

'System!' he called for System 4547701 for the second time. [Yes host?]

'You must give me compensation!'

System 01 of Batch 45477 didn't know that systems could be dumbfounded until he became dumbfounded himself. Did this host just asked him to give compensation? What did he do?

[Uhm host, there's nothing to compensate for.]

'Nothing? NOTHING?! You didn't help me when this host is in danger, you didn't warn me about consuming the pills, and you didn't inform me about the heat, yet you still say you did nothing to compensate for?! Tell me, if I died out of pain because of that heat just how should I kill you?! I'm going to fail my first world because of you!'

Zach felt satisfied and rolled on the bed while trying to hold his laughter for "scamming" the system again. However, the heat's pain acted up again that caused him to stop.

After a few minutes of lying on his bed, he carefully got up and pulled the breakfast tray on his lap. He stared at the seemingly well cooked sunny side up egg with bacon and fried rice with hesitation. He tried to mess up Gabriel's bowel movement with food, what if he wants vengeance and thus placed something with this breakfast?

'Wait, how did he know I'm an Omega?!'

Only Omegas go through heat, Beta II's don't because they're still slightly more on the stronger side than the Omegas due to their Beta nature. Lucas is supposedly a 'Beta I', Zach knows he already created some confusion to many that he was instead a Beta II, but how did that Gabriel Holland knew/assume he's in heat?

His thoughts were interrupted when the door of his room suddenly opened. In came General Gabriel with his military uniform on. He walked towards Lucas with a doting smile on his face and sat beside on the bed despite the Omega's glares.

"You didn't eat yet? Give me that." he said and grabbed the spoon and the plate from the tray, scooped a generous amount of food and placed it in front of the Omega's mouth with an 'ahh' expression. Zach weakly pushed the spoon away and furrowed his eyebrows.

"Baby boy, I didn't place anything harmful in here. Why would I want to purposely harm my Omega? I know about the laxative you place in the food I ate last time, but love don't underestimate an Alpha's system. It doesn't have effect but I decided to give you satisfaction and pretended. And I knew you're an Omega since the first time I saw you." Gabriel answered his unasked question with ease. Zach had no choice but to accept the food.

He really was hungry so he chewed and ate deliciously, his mouth tasting the simple but very tasty breakfast.

'Hey system, this guy really cooks great, almost the same as me. My one lack thingy is not having a smarf wife in the kitchen right? So if I make him my wife then I'm done here?'

[...] I could really use a palm to plant my face into right now.

Zach cleared about ⅓ of the plate when Gabriel stopped spoon feeding him and started pouting. "What?" Zach asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm hungry baby boy, feed me?" Gabriel said with a hungry puppy expression but his eyes showed mirth. Zach rolled his eyes.

"Stop calling me baby boy! I'm not a baby! Feed yourself!"

my first day of school is a half-day only because apparently, classes for the afternoon are suspended due to bad weather. We haven't even gotten to meet the rest of our new subject teachers xD but it's fun, my classmates are more or less the same from the last school year. I'm just sharing😅

If anyone here is also reading de novo, please be kindly informed that I'm having writer's blocks right now so probably no update for this week. I've been greatly discouraged too by SOMEONE in writing so yeah😩 gonna get back on it asap. Don't worry, it's not caused by any of you guys, it's a friend (🌵 for you my friend), you guys are probably the 70% reason of why I still write despite my laziness and nature. I heart you guys~
