Jaime had been in a foul mood for what seemed like days, and in his grumpy nature he had caused an air of tension to fall between the two of you, both scowling at one another as you moved around your chambers, and only speaking when absolutely necessary. You had grown quite used to only seeing him when he crawled into your bed, and you would pretend to be asleep, hoping that he would not need to find a release for his stress in your body. Actually, even the sex had grown rare, though it had never been an issue between you before, no matter how angry either of you had been, and it hurt a little to think that he no longer wanted you in the way he had when you were first married. Perhaps that was the problem, maybe there was another who was having her bed warmed by your husband. You had been thinking about it as you waited for him to stumble back to your chambers, and you felt the anger bubble up in your chest before turning to sadness as tears fell from your eyes, dampening your pillow as you clutched the sheets closer to you.

You silenced you sniffling when he pushed the door open, staring into the dimly lit room and remaining as silent as possible as he crept to his side of the bed. You let out a deep sigh when he blew out the candle on his side of the bed, plunging you both into darkness. You took a deep breath, gathering your courage before shifting to face his back. "Where were you?" you muttered quietly, and you saw his shoulders tighten as he heard your voice.

"Out," he grumbled, settling down more in the bed until he felt your hand land on his back, lightly running your hand up his spine.

"You've been distant," you told him softly, "I miss you," you added, a wave of honesty overcoming you as you stared at the outline of his body in the darkness, your eyes beginning to adjust to the lack of light. He remained quiet and you let out another sigh, "I just want to know why you were back so late," you continued until his hand reached back and pushed your fingers away from his skin, shifting himself further from you and shuffling deeper under the sheets.

"Just go to sleep," he growled, and you felt the tears come to your eyes again.

"Please Jaime, I just want to understand," you started, only for his to let out a huff of air, throwing back the covers and climbing back out of your bed. "What are you doing?" you asked, shifting to sit up and watch him as he moved across the room.

"Going to sleep somewhere where no one will interrupt me," he grumbled back, tugging open the door and leaving the room. You don't know what overcame you, but you were on your feet in an instant, storming out of the room in your night dress and following him down the hallway.

"Don't you dare walk away from me," you spat at his back, marching after him and grabbing him by the sleeve of his shirt, only for him to shake you off with little effort. "Jaime Lannister, you come back to our chambers and you talk to me or I swear to god I will leave you." He paused mid-step at your words, spinning to look down at you. His face jumped from confused to angry within an instant.

"Then fucking go," he growled, shaking his head and continuing away from you and down the hall. You felt your eyes fill with tears and your vision obscured as you crumbled to the floor weeping. Your bare feet were freezing, but your body shook more with your sobs than from the cold and you shuffled to the side of the corridor, bringing your knees up to your chest and leaning your back against the wall. You ignored the footsteps as they grew closer throughout the hallways, their speed quickening as they saw you.

"My Lady," one of the chambermaids cried out, rushing to your side and kneeling beside you, "we need to get you into your chambers," she started, taking your hand and helping you to your feet. The girl kicked the door open, her hand gently rubbing your back as you continued to sob.

"I have to leave," you yelped, moving out of her reach and pulling at your chest, throwing it open before moving over to the wardrobe, tearing the clothes from it and letting them fall into a pile on the floor.
