Sierra:
Sierra woke up late which didn't surprise her since she spoke to Ramin late in the evening. Because of this she was in a rush to not get to the airport late so Ramin wouldn't have to stand and wait for her. During the night, probably before his flight had left London, Ramin had texted her when his plane would arrive, so she knew when to pick him up. It would arrive around 8:30 and of course the clock was already 8:00 and she hadn't even gotten out of bed. Quickly she looked out of the window, it was a sunny morning, so she put on a pair of jeans, a hoodie and on top of that a big winter jacket. As fast as she could she gave her cats food, and off she was to pick up Ramin.
Even if Sierra had a driver's licence she didn't have a car. It was mostly because she didn't like to poison the environment but also because she didn't like diving. Therefore, she took a taxi to the airport and then before Ramin would come she would hire a car for him, so he could drive around in NYC when he wanted.
She arrived at the airport ten minutes before Ramin's plane would arrive, and therefore decided to buy a smoothie to eat for breakfast. As she decided which smoothie she wanted, she got a feeling that Ramin might also want to have something, so she bought a coffee for him. She sat down on a bench near the bag belt exit to wait for her best friend.
After another ten minutes loads of people came out of the bag belt exit and she heard that they spoke with a British accent. She stood up and began to smile, because in the crowd she spotted a familiar face. A man with dark brown hair, warm brown eyes and a muscular body. He looked very focused, like he was searching for someone. Sierra had to fight the urge to burst out his name while she tried to walk up to him without him spotting her. She sneaked up behind her best friend and poked him in the back at the same time as she said:
- Hello sir, do I know you?
He turned around looking surprised. Then a wide smile spread on his face, and he gave her a big hug. She tried to hug back but it was a bit hard because of the coffee she had bought him. Sierra had missed Ramin but when they hugged she felt how much she had missed him. She never wanted to let go, but of course she had to.
- Sie! How I've missed you! he said and kissed her on the cheek.
- I've missed you toooooo; she told him, with a huge smile across her face. And by the way, here you go.
He took the coffee and said:
- Thank you so much Sie! he gave her another big hug.
Has he always smelled this good? Sierra wanted to run around screaming because of how happy she felt but because they were in public she felt she needed to behave at least a bit.
- What do you wanna do now? she asked him as they started walking to the airport exit.
- I don't know, I thought you had planned something.
- No, not really, I thought we could decide together...
Oh no, why hadn't she decided something to do? But they were best friends, it didn't really matter, they could come up with something.
- Since I haven't seen your cats in a while, and I've really missed them I promise, we could go home to you and do something. Does that seem alright? he smiled so his cute dimples became visible.
- No; she answered sarcastically. My cats have told me that you don't like them, and they are very upset. Have you ever seen an upset cat?
- Oh, okay, then I don't know; he said trying to hold in his laughter.
Soon they burst out laughing and after a minute they were by the rented car. So, after they had stuffed in Ramin's bags in the car, Ramin was seated behind the steering wheel and they sped towards Sierra's flat.
Ramin:
During the way home to Sierra they caught up on everything they had missed. They talked about everything and nothing and when they finally had reached Sierra's apartment they both had stomach ache because of laughter and had already sung more than they were supposed to.
- Hello Celie, hi Olivia; Sierra said once they opened the door.
The cats meowed and stroke their heads against Ramin's leg.
- They are not at all upset, why did you lie to me Sie? Ramin dramatically said.
- I'm so sorry, but you have to believe in yourself, you can get through this. Be strong, don't lose hope and never forget: you are enough, you are so enough, it's unbelievable how enough you are; she said and started laughing.
After another five minutes of laughter they decided that they would bake something and then watch a movie. As they took out things to use when they baked Ramin just felt like he would explode. His heart beat fast and he felt nervous for no reason. It felt like he wanted to prove something. Before picking up a bowl he tried to dry his sweaty palms against his pants. Why did he have sweaty palms, he never had sweaty palms. He picked up the bowl from the wooden cupboard and continued helping Sie.
- Ramin, I don't wanna offend you or anything, but why did you and Mandy argue? You don't have to answer if you don't want to, just if you wanted to talk about it.
Sierra sounded very nervous and caring. He didn't want to tell her, he didn't want her to bother but also, deep inside he felt a little ashamed for arguing with Mandy.
- I promise you, it was nothing. Just a small argument as usual, nothing you have to worry about.
- Okay, but if you wanna talk about it you can always talk to me. I'll always be there for you if you need me to. You know that I would do anything for you?
- I do, Sie. And that's why I love you.
- I love you too.
Even if Sierra didn't mean that she actually loved him his face instantly got hotter. Luckily his face never got the alarming shade of scarlet as some people's faces did, but his cheeks got a little pink and he started to sweat. He hoped that she didn't notice this and continued:
- So, which movie do you wanna watch?
- Ummm, that's a good question. I don't know; he heard that she tried to act as if she hadn't asked about Mandy and he thought that was really cute and kind.
- What about a crappy romantic movie?
- Oh! Sure, if you want to; she happily answered. Which one then?
How could she be that good at making things unawkward?
- You have Netflix, right?
She nodded.
- Then we could search for a movie when we are done with this.
- Okay; she said, and they continued baking.
After they finished with the baking which turned out to be brownies, they chose the movie "Love Actually" and they sat next to each other in Sierra's sofa and ate brownies while watching the movie.
He didn't even notice when but some time during the movie they had moved very close. Sierra had her head resting on Ramin's chest and he had his arms around her resting his head on her red dyed hair. Thinking about it, Ramin's heart began beating faster and he hoped that Sierra didn't notice. It felt so comfortable and right to sit like this, as if there were no problems in the world. He never wanted to let go so he tried to enjoy that moment as long as he could while the movie was still on. Why did he think like this? He was supposed to miss Mandy and not wanting to stay here with Sierra all night and for eternity, but he didn't. At least not during this moment. All he could think about was how close Sierra was and how he wanted to be even closer if that was possible.
