The Sixth Paladin

Chapter 29

Back in the main room, Hunk is asleep on his chair. He's snoring, till he almost falls out of his chair and jolts awake.

"What? What'd I miss?" He yells out.

"Oh, nothing important. We've just figured out a plan to beat Zarkon." Lance answers.

"Really? I doze for 10 minutes and you guys figure out how to defeat the forces of evil?"

"You've been asleep for three hours." Pidge said, making Hunk smile sheepishly at her. He then turns to where the rest of us are standing, gathered around a big hologram of Zarkon's ship.

"I think we've got something here. It's dangerous and has a lot of moving parts but if we can coordinate everything right..." Shiro trails off and Kolivan finishes.

"Zarkon's reign will be at an end, and the savagery that's poisoned our universe can finally be cleansed. You've done it, Shiro."

"We did it together." Shiro holds out his hand, Kolivan looks at it then shakes is hand.  

"As long as we stick to the plan, it should work." Allura spoke up.

"It will work. Perhaps then you'll learn not all Galra are bad like Zarkon." Kolivan says. Allura turns to look at Keith, who is busy looking at the hologram.

"I hope not." I notice the look she's giving him. I move to block her view of Keith, ever since we got back and told everyone that Keith is half Galra, she's been giving him dirty looks. We make eye contact, I narrow my eyes slightly at her and she turns away.

"Ulaz was right to trust you." Antok says.

"He sacrificed everything to bring us together. Let's honor him by taking down Zarkon." Shiro says. Hunk, Lance, and Pidge walk over.

"So whats the plan?" Hunk asks. Lance runs over to the hologram.

"The plan is amazing! First, we infect Zarkon's ship with a virus." He makes a funny face and points to the hologram, then slides over to a computer and starts typing. "Then, we make an extra large wormhole and lure Zarkon inside it, zapping him a bajillion light years away." He says, as the hologram goes inside a wormhole and disappears. He then takes on of the hologram panels and runs to the other side of the room, Zarkon's ship hologram pops out of the panel. "Then, when he pops up and is like "Oh, why doesn't my ship work?" Voltron kicks his butt!" He proceeds to make various sound effects. He puts a finger across his nose and deepens his voice. "I'll form the head. That's what you say Shiro." He then bounces around the room.

"Wow. So this is it." Hunk says, sounding uncharacteristically serious.

"I guess the only question is, when do we strike?" I say. Coran types on a holographic keypad and pulls up the plans for the teludav. 

"As soon as we build a teludav large enough to wormhole Zarkon's ship."

"Aw man the teludav again? Does that mean we have to find scaultrite?" Hunk asks.

"That's one of the many things we need." Allura answers.

"Am I sensing another trip to the space mall?" Hunk asks hopefully.

"Am afraid not." Hunk frowns. "This is going to take a lot more scaultrite than we can find in any Unilu shop. For this plan to succeed,we're gonna have to split up.We all have a task to do. Keith, Hunk, and Korra, you'll be in charge of getting the scaultrite. If anyone of us fails, the whole plan fails." 

We're all gathered in the yellow lions hanger, as it will be better for carrying the scaultrite. Keith says goodbye to Shiro while Hunk and Pidge shake each others hands wile crying loudly. Lance pulls me into a bone crushing hug.
