Chapter 9

Kim returned with some flashlights and handed them out. Jin walked over and started to light the fireplace. Soon a warm glow seeped into the room and lit up the living room. "This should keep us warm since the heaters won't work with the power out." We all crowded around the fire putting our hands out towards the fire. 

We all decided to play a board game to pass the time left in the day. Chutes and Ladders was chosen and the game got competitive. Even Kim got invested into the game. We decided to call it a night when Yoongi was in the lead and won by a long shot and wouldn't stop gloating and teasing about it. "Alright we'll decide what to do tomorrow in the morning, goodnight everyone." Kim said after she put out the fire. She walked up the stairs using the flashlight to guide her. I felt really nervous all of a sudden, it didn't dawn upon me that we'd have to sleep alone in the dark. The thought terrified me if the flashlight went out and I wake up to darkness. Namjoon and Jimin started to get up. "Wait!" I hold onto their arms like my life depended on it. "C-can we all sleep in the living room t-together I don't want to sleep alone in the dark." I pleaded. "I agree I don't want to be alone in the dark either" Jungkook stated. "That's a good idea, Taehyung and I will go get blankets." Hoseok explained.

Everybody all got comfortable in the millions of blankets and pillows Hoseok and Taehyung threw down at us when they came back. I was about to lay down when I realized something. "Aren't you going to bed?" I whispered to Taehyung who was sitting up as well. "Yea in a little bit I'm not completely tired yet, you should get some sleep though." He whispered back gently pushing my head into his lap. He ran his fingers through my hair soothingly until I drifted calmly off to sleep. 

I woke up to the fire roaring in the fireplace. Jimin and Yoongi were huddled over the fireplace and Kim was drinking coffee in the kitchen. I became aware that I was still resting my head on Taehyung's lap. I blushed and sat up making the blankets move off of me. I shivered as the cold of the room hit me and I instinctively snuggled up to Taehyung taking in his warmth. He wrapped his arms around me and I looked up to see him smiling down at me. "I'm sorry it was really cold" My face grew hot. "No no it's fine don't worry about it." He beamed cutely holding me closer. 

The rest of the group woke up not long after and we brought the blankets wrapped around ourselves to the table to eat breakfast. "I didn't expect a blackout so we can choose from an assortment of granola bars, crackers, and croissants." Kim laughed. We all started eating and managed to eat everything she laid out. 

"Lets build a fort!" I cheered clapping my hands together. "That sounds fun lets do it with the million blankets you guys brought down." Kim stated glaring playfully at Hoseok and Taehyung. We started making a giant fort to fit everyone in it. I felt a pillow hit my back. I turned around to see Jin looking mischievous. I went up and hit him back and he fell dramatically onto Jimin. Which caused him to hit him back. This resulted in a full on pillow fight. Taehyung and Jungkook were relentless pelting people with pillows every time they got the chance. Jimin and Hoseok secretly teamed up together and planned attacks on Yoongi and Jin. Kim peaked around and the corner and got swung in the stomach with a pillow. "Alright that does it" She said intimidatingly and Jungkook and Taehyung screamed and ran away while Kim had two pillow in her hands swinging them in every direction. I ducked from Kim's attack and hid behind Hoseok. "I'll protect you princess." He said confidently and held out a pillow. I giggled and held onto the back of his shirt. The pillow fight lasted hours. When we got tired we started working on the fort again.

When we finished blankets towered over us with different objects buried within to keep the fort standing. Inside was lined with pillows to sit on and a candle in the center to light up the inside. It was already reaching night time by the time we finished.

We stood admiring our work when Jungkook couldn't help himself and practically dived into the fort. We all laughed and followed him inside. We sat on the pillows in a circle around the candle. "You know what this calls for......" Namjoon said scarily while grabbing a flashlight and shining it on himself. "....SCARY STORIES." He laughed evilly. For the rest of the night we told stories and eventually everyone drifted off to sleep. I smiled warmly at everyone and blew the candle out and went to sleep.
