CHAPTER 31

Loud knocking on my apartment door draws me out of my slumber. It was well past 2 a.m. when I finally fell asleep last night and right now it's only eight in the morning. Doubts about my relationship with Liam would not leave my mind, all thanks to my idiot boss.

I know I need to give up on Harry. He's obviously not ready for a real relationship. I doubt he's ever even had an actual girlfriend before. Liam is better for me, and even though he's younger than Harry he has twice the maturity.

I stumble out of bed and pull on my robe, shuffling over to answer the door. When I open it, I'm a little surprised to see Liam standing there with two coffees in his hands.

"Good morning," he smiles at me. "I brought you coffee."

I stare at him for a second, not sure how to feel about him seeing me with no makeup and hair that looks like a rat's nest. But then again, he has seen me after I finish working out so I guess it doesn't matter all that much.

When I don't reply, Liam sighs. "Let me in, Leah. You sure as hell look like you need some coffee."

"I thought you were supposed to be nice to me now," I finally say, stepping aside so that he can enter my apartment. I wince as I notice my stuff lying sloppily on my couch from where I threw it the night before. Liam doesn't seem to mind, though, he simply takes a seat at my small table and pats the chair next to him.

"I am nice. I was just saying," he says innocently and I roll my eyes. He hands me my coffee and I accept it gratefully, taking a sip and nearly burning my tongue in the process.

"It's hot," Liam tells me with a teasing smile.

"No shit, Sherlock," I mutter under my breath and he lets out a loud laugh. It's kind of weird to have Liam here, sitting in my kitchen, but he is my boyfriend now. This is what couples are supposed to do.

"Did you sleep okay?" Liam asks, sounding concerned. He's so sweet and caring and kind of just perfect. Who wouldn't want to date him, really?

"Um...not really," I sigh. I take another sip of my coffee and thankfully it's cooled off by now so I don't burn my tongue again. Liam frowns at me.

"Why not?" he asks.

"I'm just still a little jet lagged from my trip," I lie quickly.

"Your trip was over a week ago," he laughs.

I laugh along nervously with him. "I'm very sensitive."

I'm not sure if he truly believes me or not, but thankfully Liam doesn't question me further. Instead he asks, "What do you want to do today?"

"What?"

"What do you want to do today?' he repeats. "It's Saturday, I'm your boyfriend, and I want to do something with you besides exercise."

"We do other things together besides exercise," I say while pulling my messy hair up into a ponytail. My bangs keep flopping into my eyes and it's really annoying.

"Like what?" Liam questions.

"Well...we went out for pizza that one time."

"One time."

"I like exercising, and so do you," I shrug my shoulders as if it's normal for a couple to work out together all of the time.

"Well, if you really want to exercise, sex burns over sixty calories."
