“AND WE JUST...SIT HERE?” I ask Dean as I hold a fishing rod in my hands.

“Yep.” He tells me.

“An-and when do I know when to reel it in?” I ask Dean anxiously.

“You’ll know.” He says smirking. I exhale slowly. Dean and I sit on a dock in a small clearing in the early morning.

“Is this part of the sibling bonding? Sitting here and staring at the water?” I ask sarcastically, though a playful tone rings through my words.

“This…it’s peace.” Dean says thoughtfully. I nod, remaining quiet, and soak up the emptiness of the landscape.

Suddenly, something jerks my fishing rod. “Ahh.” I scream and jump up from out of my seat. “What do I do? What do I do?” I panic.

It starts pulling harshly and then with a snap, it stops moving altogether. Dean laughs hysterically. “Not funny. I just went through the worst moment of my life.” I exaggerate.

He rolls his eyes, his laughing dies down. “Sit down and watch the pro.” He says.

“We need to talk.” I hear behind me. I gasp and fall out of my seat, hitting the dock with a thud.

“Jesus Cas!” I complain.

Dean sighs. “I’m dreaming aren’t I.” Dean says.

I furrow my eyebrows. “What? No you’re not…” I say thinking back to my last memory. I don’t remember. “Wait…what’s...going on.” I say, confused at the situation. “You’re not dreaming, I’m dreaming.”

“I connected your minds, I need to talk but…it’s not safe here. Someplace more private.” Cas says.

“More private? We’re inside my head…our heads.” Dean says.

“Exactly. Someone could be listening.” Cas says.

I furrow my eyebrows. Listening? I wonder. “Cas, what’s wrong?” Dean asks him. Cas pulls out a note from his pocket, handing it to Dean. I stand up from the ground.

“If this is a dream…can I…” I wonder aloud, stepping onto the lake, and not falling in. “Oh my god, no. Nope, don’t like that.” I say, retreating back onto the safety and comfort of the dock.

Cas looks at me. “I need you guys to meet me here. Go now.” Cas says before disappearing.

“What was that?” I ask Dean, looking at him worriedly.

“I don’t kno-”

I gasp, sitting awake in a motel room. I look to Dean instantly, I see him sit up when I do. “We have to-” I tell Dean.
