Courtney and Jean-Paul said nothing. The staff member scurried out the door.
"I loved you too, Jean-Paul."
Jean-Paul took another step toward Courtney.
"Why didn't you say anything?" he asked.
Courtney stepped toward Jean-Paul.
"I couldn't. I didn't want to risk losing those friendships. It felt wrong at the time, but now... now it feels..."
"Right."
Jean-Paul took her in his arms, Courtney sinking into his embrace.
"Will you finally share a Wendy's beverage with me, Courtney?"
Courtney put her hands on his face and kissed his check.
"Of course I will, Jean-Paul."
She reached for the Berry Cherry Fruit Tea on the vanity and gasped. It was gone.
"Jean-Paul! The Fruit Tea! It was right here a second ago!"
"What?!"
