Izuku looked at the board infront of him and he almost feels bad for himself, almost, he's facing against Shoto and Shinso is facing Sero, he knows Shoto can make ice, if there's one thing Izuku hates its ice, don't get me wrong he loves cold things but touching ice! Holding it in your hands? The feeling of getting stuck on it? He'd really rather not, he knows Shinso can blast through the match pretty quickly but he honestly isn't sure about himself

Due to his half and half motif it's pretty safe to say that Shoto probably has a dual quirk, just based on how he acts, also he only gets frostbites on his right side, almost like his other side is warmer or something, it's mostly speculation though, he kinda wants to talk to Shinso but the purplenette was avoiding him for some reason, oh well not his problem, he's sure Shinso can win anyways!

"You... I think it's pretty safe to say I'm stronger than you" Shoto says when he passes by him, Izuku stops and stares, Shoto also stops as if he's expecting that to happen

"Yeah you are, pretty strong, and you have ice by your side I'm sure there's no doubt that you'll win!" He says, Shoto stays still for a moment before walking away

A few moments passed and suddenly there's a crack, and another until a part of the iceberg on the side is blown off, Izuku ran out and towards Shoto

"Haha! Knew you'd do something like that you show off!"

"I was standing on my tippy toes behind that ice I almost fell down! I leapt back and thankfully you didn't cover my entire side, about that blown off thing I just kinda wanted to look cool!" He grins
