The Hotspring Demon

Chapter 1

Naruto was sitting down in his apartment. It's been a few months since he got Sasuke back from the Retrieval Mission and he's been left in the dark since. Tsunade didn't have time to talk to him, Jiraiya was busy doing his 'research', the Rookies ignored him... he didn't know what to do. But then again... he did the same thing. He knew more than he let on, more than anyone would ever know 'So, what are you going to do, brat?' asked a voice on his head

'I don't know sensei, I don't know,' he replied

'You could always take back Kinpika and leave this place,' said the voice

'I guess you're right besides... Tsunade is just a baby discovering the world when it comes to medicine,' he replied

'Then let's get going!' said the voice

"Yes... let's," said Naruto as he went into his room to get some things.

1 Hour Later:

Naruto was wearing a waist-length white jacket with sleeves that went over his hands and leaves most of his chest exposed to show a slim well fit build, with an alternating circle and diamond pattern on the end. He also wore a black hakama, a large yellow sash around his waist and a pair of sandals. His hair was... strange to say the least. The best way to describe it would be to say that it was an outlandishly large pompadour, or "regent" hairstyle. In his mouth was a stick as he walked through his apartment. He was about to leave when he turned around and took out a match "This place is already filled with flammable contents, even a simple spark would turn this place into a giant fireball... good thing I have a flair for the dramatic," he said as he lit the match and flicked it at the couch, catching on fire. But just before the match lit the couch, Naruto was gone in a burst of wind. He reappeared in the Hokage's' office as several ANBU fell to the ground unconscious "Tch, seems I'm losing my touch," he said

'I wonder why that would be?!' shouted the voice in his head

"Please sensei, just 5 minutes without you criticising me," replied Naruto as he went to the bookshelf and opened it

'Maybe if you actually trained instead of doing that stupid bull-shit, you wouldn't be so slow!' shouted the voice

"At least I'm faster than that slow-ass Hiraishin, now time to get what we came here for," said Naruto as he opened the Scroll of Sealing. He rolled it out until he came to a sealing array... a storage seal. He looked at it until he bit his thumb and dragged it across the seal. In a poof of smoke, a... rowboat paddle appeared? The paddle part of it was blank as Naruto picked it up "Hmm, should I put my name on it?" he asked

'I know I did, so why not?' said the voice

"Okay, then let me see here," he said as he took some ink and wrote "Uzumaki" (うずまき) on the blank paddle as inspected it. He was satisfied as straddled it of his shoulders as he disappeared in a burst of wind again and reappeared at the top of the Hokage Monument. He looked down at the village as the fire of his apartment burned down. He sat down, watching the sunset as his kept on burning. When the sun was gone and the fire spread to the other houses of the Red Light District, causing pillars of smoke to block the moon, he stood up and walked away from the village 'Tch, stupid bastards, can't even put out a fire to save their lives,' said the voice in his head

"Sensei... you have no idea how right you are," said Naruto with the wooden paddle straddled on his shoulders. He took out his headband and looked at it. He took his thumb, channeled chakra through it... and crossed out the Konoha Symbol.

1 Week Later:

It been a week since Naruto left the village. His training was actually going well... as he was learning from experience. When Naruto first set off on his journey he went directly to Wave. There he was welcomed with open arms. He was currently in a small building when all of a sudden "NARUTO!" shouted Inari

"What is it, Inari?" asked Naruto as he chewed on his stick while looking at a medical book

"I-IT'S NINJA'S!" shouted Inari as Naruto stood up

"Where are they from?" asked Naruto as he grasped the wooden paddle

"T-they're rouges from the Sound!" he said as Naruto walked past him. Naruto walked through the small village until he reached the bridge. There he saw several ninja. Each with crossed out sound symbols. But two intrigued him the most. One was a little girl about 7 with long silky black hair. Her face held a soft smile as her eyes looked like those of a killer, and around her neck was a crossed-out sound headband. Then in her right hand was a sword, slightly longer than an ordinary katana, and resembles a nodachi. The tsuba has an oval shape, and the handle is red. On her side was a sheath that was attached to a string that hung on her shoulder. Standing behind her was a girl, about 5, with silver hair. She stood behind the older girl as Naruto walked up to the group "What do want?" he asked as the older girl said, with bloodlust: "We need a place to stay," she said

"You do know that I can sense the bloodlust coming from your voice, right? How do I know that you won't kill everybody in the village after one night?" he said

"Are you saying that you don't trust us?" she asked

"You lot are former sound-nin by the looks of things, but that doesn't mean you aren't agents sent by Orochimaru to get him some test subjects. Taking into account that this place is allied with Konoha, it would be the perfect place to strike as they're part of a trade route," explained Naruto

"I see you're not an idiot, fine... I challenge you," she said as she pointed the blade at him

"Challenge me?" asked Naruto

"Yes, if I win, we spend the night, if you win, we go on our way... deal?" she asked as Naruto stood there with a bored expression

"Fine... deal," he said as she charged at him with Chunin level speeds, which was surprising to Naruto, but he didn't show it. She raised the sword above her head to cut him, but he simply moved out of the way by side-stepping. She then swung her sword his way as he blocked it with the paddle, bouncing the blade back. She then went into a flurry of swings as she tried to land a hit, only for all of them to be blocked or dodged. Naruto simply held a bored expression as he blocked another strike, that made the blade bounce, leaving her open. Naruto spun around the paddle and hit her 3 times in quick succession in the chest, sending her to the ground. The blade stuck in the ground as Naruto looked at the blade and back at her. He held his paddle to her throat and said "I win,"

"Okay... do it," she said

"Hn?"

"Kill me," she said as Naruto looked at her. He then grew a smile on his face as he... laughed? Naruto laughed and laughed as he withdrew his paddle and grabbed her sword in his other hand. It was heavy, really heavy. It felt like he was trying to carry a house... but he fixed that problem with some chakra. It was now light as a feather to him and he walked back to her and pointed the blade at her face "You really want me to kill ya? HAH, as if I would! You have potential, not only as a fighter... but as a medic," he said

"W-what are you talking about?" she asked

"You heard me, brat, you have potential aside from using a blade! Now get up, you and your friends are going to spend the night!" said Naruto as he stuck the blade in the ground in front of her. The younger girl with silver hair rushed to the older girls side as she held her throat where his paddle was. She stood up as she picked up the blade. She put it in her sheath as she shouted: "WHAT'S YOUR NAME?!"

"Hmm?" asked Naruto as he turned around

"Your name, what is it?" she asked as he grinned

"Names Naruto Uzumaki, you?" asked Naruto

"My name's Retsu Unohana, and this is my surrogate sister, Isane Kotetsu," she said

"Hn... see ya around," he said as he walked back to his building. When he got back, he sat down as he went back to reading his book 'Well I know who got reincarnated,' said the voice in his head

"You do Tenjiro-Sensei?"

'Yup, and you did the right thing sparring her. She'll be a good medic in the future,' said Tenjiro

"We'll see, now about that theory of yours," said Naruto as he looked down at the book
