On Friday night that week a girl rejected Jared at a party and he just didn’t get why. She wasn’t that hot. She was alright-looking, with long brown hair that straggled a bit at the ends like she didn’t take care of it that much, and these sparkly, mocking eyes that drove Jared kind of crazy.
And he said,
“D’you want a drink?”
and she said,
“No thanks,” and smiled at him in a way that seemed she was revelling in the rejection; like she’d won some sort of victory.
“Boyfriend?” he guessed, because he was slightly tipsy and that apparently wasn’t the best news for his pride. The girl just shook her head.
“Nah,” she said.
Jared heard Ari laughing behind him and fuck he wanted to punch something.
“Ayyy Spencer just got rejected by Willa Adams!” crowed Ari.
This Willa girl just rolled her eyes and walked away.
