Summary: Richie's unsteady summer,

Richie POV

I sniffled as I packed my backpack with snacks and a few books. I needed snacks, I was a hungry boy.

its been 2 weeks basically of summer break and I planned out everything.

"Richie are you going out? I'm heading to work now, so lock the door on the way out! Bye." Mom yelled from downstairs.

I clenched my jaw and re-positioned my glasses after I zipped up my backpack.
Quickly placing my backpack on I then raced down stairs and out the door, making sure I lock it.

My bike was laid out on the front yard and I was ready to go. This summer was going to be the greatest one.

I felt as the breeze came in contact with my skin. I enjoyed the scenery of my town, Derry was underrated.

I felt as a sharp pain had hit the side of my ribs. It was a rock. I tumbled and fell to the ground with my bike.

"If it isn't Four eyes." A voice cooed.

It was Henry Bowers and his posse of shit heads.
I groaned and winked in pain as I felt the side of my ribs, that was definitely going to be bruised.

I fixed my glasses and looked up at Henry and his gang of goons that hovered above me.

"What do you want Bowers?" I asked as I frowned my brows. Henry's goons came around and picked me up, they held me. Henry took a few steps forward and smirked.

"Where are you off too? loser. Going to the arcade to play with those loser friends of yours?" Henry mumbled and then punched me in the gut.

I yelled out of pain and leaned my head forward as it hung,

"Leave...me... alone. I need to be somewhere." I whispered, Henry laughed.

"Richie, why would I leave you alone. You're my favourite loser, you actually have the confidence to trash talk me... Unlike your stupid idiotic friends, or that slut of a girl you like, what's her name? Oh yeah, Y/N." Henry mumbled, I clenched my jaw and looked up.

"Don't, fucking call her that you worthless piece of shit." I yelled angry with gritted teeth. I untangled myself from their grips and the placed my fist up.

Henry took a step forward and was about to say something until, a police car siren went off.

His dad was driving by.

I gulped and watched as Henry then started walking away with his group.

My legs walked back over to my bike and picked it up, I winced in pain due to the bruises forming on the side and on my stomach.

~

I reached my destination and walked weirdly because of how much pain I was in.

I walked into the room and entered slightly, Walking in completely, I smiled as I saw Y/N in her bed.

Slowly, I made my way towards her and felt my heart begin to race.
The sound of her heart monitor machine had caught my attention, my hand reached down and I held onto hers, the feeling of her not gripping my hand back made me want to fall apart.

"I'm here." I whispered. My throat had become dry as I tried to swallow.

Y/N was in a coma due to an accident she had with her alcoholic father. It's been a month since her accident and I miss her.

I placed my bag down and sat in the chair next to her bed, my eyes had wiped the few tears I released.

Suddenly, a nurse walked in and she smiled. She began checking a few of the machines in Y/N's room.

"It's nice of you to be spending your summer here with Ms. Y/L/N in her room. I've seen you read to her, is that right?" The nurse mumbled, I re-position my glasses and shook my head in agreement.

"Yeah, I read to her. I went to the library and got a few books out... The books she told me all about, I got them just for her." I replied back and then turned my head to face Y/N.

I missed her. I clenched my jaw and felt as the tears streamed.

She made me a better person, and now that shes not with me, I just feel alone.
