Smut awaits

[Name]'s POV

Jayden shoves the door open, and I aim my gun while storming into the room. I scan the dark storage room, when I see a figure start running.

"He's running!" I exclaim while vaulting over an old washing machine and chasing after the man.

"Shit! Stay on him!" Jayden shouts as I follow Chris through several corridors.

He shoves a door open at the end of the corridor, causing the hall to be filled with bright sunlight. My eyes widen as he heads outside, and I follow him out, getting my bearings while chasing after him. 'Dammit, I need to catch up to him' I start to sprint, keeping Chris in my line of sight.

"I need eyes on East Lafayette Street!" I say into my earpiece once I recognize the road I'm on.

"Which direction are you heading in?" I hear Captain Allen respond.

"Towards Downtown Detroit. We're approaching Randolph Street now. Do any of you have eyes on us?"

"Affirmative, agent, but you're at risk if we take the shot."

"I don't want him killed, Captain Allen. If you're going to shoot him, it can't be fatal," I say while turning onto Monroe Avenue where people are walking.

"Fuck," Captain Allen murmurs, before letting out a small sigh, "stay on his trail, Agent Anderson, you've officially left the one mile perimeter. SWAT and FBI are on their way now."

"Just great," I scoff while chasing Chris through the myriad of people on the streets doing their holiday shopping. He pushes through the crowd, causing some people to fall or crash into someone else. I start to catch up to him, when he starts knocking things over to try and slow me down.

"Oh, come on," I groan while jumping over a knocked over trash can. I avoid the items that were moved to distract me, when I notice Chris running directly towards a familiar face.

"Markus!" I shout, catching his attention. He looks over and I point at the man I've been chasing, "Stop him!"

Right as Chris goes to pass by Markus, Markus grabs him and looks at me. I smile when I make it over to them, grabbing my handcuffs from the belt loop of my jeans. I grab Chris's wrists, and cuff them, reminding him of his rights he has. Several police cars pull up to the sidewalk I'm near, and I look over to see Connor and Jayden getting out.

"Get him to the station. I'll catch up in a few minutes," I tell Jayden while passing Chris over to him.

"See you in a bit," Jayden says, before forcing Chris into Officer Chris' police cruiser.

I nod, before turning to face Markus, a thankful smile coming to my face. "I'm sorry you had to get involved in that, but thank you for your help, Markus," I say, and Connor joins my side.

"It's no problem, but may I ask what's going on?" Markus inquires, eyes sliding from Connor to me.

"To put it shortly- some members of a few government agencies want me dead- most likely because of the android situation from November. We now have the list of people involved and that guy you stopped was one of the men."

Markus's eyes widen at my not-so-detailed explanation. "Has anyone made any attempts yet?" he asks me.

"Yeah. Two times. The first time I took a knife slash right to my stomach, and the second time- a man had broken into my apartment and held a gun to my head."

"And this all has happened because of the events from November?"

"Precisely."

Markus nods with a frown, before setting a hand on my shoulder. "If there is anything I can help with- do not hesitate to ask," he says, and I notice Connor's demeanor change when Markus placed his hand on me.
