~Your POV~

"Y/n, my dear, please fetch your friends. Say that a meal is prepared for them both, please." George spoke, acting as if he's my father.

"Of course, father." I snicker the last word quietly while walking to James' and Thomas' rooms. I went to James first.

I knocked. No response. I opened the door. No one was in his bedroom. James was nowhere to be seen. After I get Thomas, we can look for James together, I think to myself, reassuringly.

I knock on Thomas' door. No response. I open the door. I gasp at the sight. Thomas and James are asleep together under the covers of Thomas' bed.

"Guys, sorry to wake you, but we have a meal all ready for you both." I say in both of their ears.

Thomas immediately wakes up. "Y-Y/n! I'm so sorry, it's not what it-"

"Take care of James." I tease with a wink.

"W-Wha...?"

"...Thomas...? What are you doing in my bed...?" James asks, still waking up.

"James, this is Thomas' bed, not yours."

James' face turns a shade of magenta, avoiding eye contact with Thomas.

"So... What happened last night?" I smirk.

"N-Nothing!" James stutters.

"Oh really?" I lean closer to Thomas, inches away from his face.

"Y-Y/n...!" He yelps.

I lean a bit closer, and Thomas backs away.

"Okay, okay! We, uhhh, we did..."

"Ooh! I already know what happened."

"You d-do...?" James wonders.

"Mhm. You two must really looove each other." I smirk again.

"Y-Y/n I'm so sorry! One day I propose, the next I have intercourse with someone of the same sex."

"No, it's fine. I knew that James liked you. And you clearly showed the same affection for him. Now go get dressed and meet me back at the dining room."

The boys nod, and I walk out. I go back to George, who is writing down a lot of notes furiously.

"George? What are you doing?" I ask him.

"Agh!" He jumps back. "Y/n, you startled me."

"I can tell. My apologies for that, I am just good at sneaking up on people, I guess..."

"Precisely."

"Thomas and James are both getting dressed. They shall be in the dining room soon, so why don't we go there?"

"Y/n, I have many papers."

"You sound like one of my friends, please stop working for a bit?"

"Fine. Let's go."

I walk with George to the dining room. James and Thomas are arriving now, and we all sit down to eat. Many loaves of bread are on the table, along with hard boiled and scrambled eggs.

I fill my dish with two slices of bread, one hard boiled egg, and some scrambled eggs. James takes two hard boiled eggs and one slice of bread. Thomas takes three slices of bread, a few hard boiled eggs, and a ton of scrambled eggs. James glares at his behavior.

"Feel free to grab as much food as you'd like. It is not every day that I meet Y/n's acquaintances." George refrains from calling them my friends.

Thomas does not make eye contact with George. I presume he's still annoyed about the war.

"Thomas, the food isn't poisoned. I don't think the king would be so foolish as to kill my friends over the food we love so dearly." I tell him reassuringly, chuckling a bit.

"Ah, yes, I know. I'm still a bit weary, though."

"I understand completely. Thomas Jefferson, right? Resigned ambassador of France?"

Thomas nods politely.

"And you must be James Madison. You wrote the Bill of Rights. Such a marvelous assortment of words. Even I, if I do say so, was impressed."

"Thank you, your majesty." James replies humbly.

"Oh, no need for formalities. Only peasants and servants call me so. You may address me as George, just like Y/n does."

"Alright. K- uh, George, how do you know Y/n?" Thomas stumbles on his words.

"Her family was very loyal, and we were very close. When they passed, I raised Y/n as my daughter. That was during the war, actually. 1780 to 1781 she was in my palace, so she knows this place inside and out. Sometimes, I couldn't even find her." He laughs.

Thomas and James exchanged a quick glance before nodding politely. It was clear that they were uncomfortable.

"George, you must be hungry. How about we eat now and talk later?" I suggest, much to Thomas and James' enjoyment.
