I watched the pretty and colorful lights shoot into the sky, as I stare in admiration.

I was sitting at the dock where the lake was at, my feet slightly dipping into the water as I stared up.

"Oh my gosh." I whispered. "Luke, look at that one!" I beamed, shaking him by the arm as he chuckles.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" He says, staring down at me as he said that though.

"Yeah." I murmered. "I.. This is amazing. I've never seen fireworks so upclose like this before."

"Really?"

"Yeah, it may sound ridiculous but--"

"No, it's cute.'' His nose scrunched slightly as a small smile was on his face.

I smile, looking down at the water as the colorful lights that shooted into the sky reflected against the water.

"Wanna go for a swim?"

"What no, I'm not prepared." I motioned.

"Oh come on. Please?" The blonde boy grinned at me.

"Mm." I shook my head slowly. "And it's dark. It's dangerous."

"Well life is all about risks. Right? You told me yourself.'' He mumbled, glancing at me with a hopeful smile.

I huffed, pursing my lips.

Before I could say another word though, Luke slowly slips his shirt off, dropping it onto the dock as he immediately dived into the water.

I gasped, my eyes widening as he laughed at my reaction once he reached the surface.

Luke runs a hand through his damp hair. "Come on, I'll catch you!" He urged.

"Isn't it cold?"

"Not so much once you're in the water.'' He says. "Come on, Diana." He pouted.

I look down at my tank top and shorts as I sigh. "I don't have a change of clothes, L--"

Befote I know it, he grabs me by the arm and pulls me in. I shriek, before the water engulfs me completely.

Rising up to the surface, I splash at him in frustration. "Luke!"

He laughs hysterically as I groaned, my feet slowly paddling in the cold water.

"You're so cute when you're mad."

"I'll be cute when I slowly--"

He cuts me off again, when he pulls me towards him. I didn't know what to do, so I just froze, staring at him.

Luke smiles, taking my arms and setting them around his neck. "There.'' He smiled, our noses slightly touching.

"It is cold, you liar.'' I muttered, as we both look up at the fireworks happening above us.

"I'll keep you warm." He whispers into my ear, tucking my wet hair behind my ear.

I lean my head on his shoulder, looking up at the beautiful sight once again. The pop noise it made as it shot into the sky kind of scared me at first actually, but it was actually.. Pretty. It made me feel alive.

"You took a risk."  He told me.

And so, that wish is off the list. My list was slowly decreasing, telling me that God was giving me the gifts I have been asking for, almost everyday of my life.
