Chapter 26

Hadley:

He woke up early that morning. The clock was around 7 and he was wide awake. Not knowing what to do he at first stayed in the "bed" just waiting for the time to pass. Jaiden was still asleep, he would probably be very angry if Hadley had tried to wake him up. After some minutes he became very bored, nothing to do and no one to talk to. Sitting up he came up with an idea. Maybe dad was awake and would like to talk to him. He stood up and tip toed over to his father's bedroom to check whether he was awake or not. As quietly as he could he opened the door and peeked in.

There in the bed he saw his father and Sierra spooning, his father holding her very tightly. What was this? Were they a couple now or what? His mother had told him that they were a couple, but they had never seen them kiss. This was so weird, could two grown ups be a couple without kissing? Were they a couple because they slept together, just like mom and dad had done before? He liked Sierra and he wanted them to become a couple, since his mom wanted it. His mom knew best and therefore everything she said was true. With a fast beating heart, he almost ran back to the living room and shook Jaiden until he awoke.

- Jaiden! he whispered. Jaiden, wake up!

Slowly he opened his eyes and looked at Hadley with loathing.

- Why are you waking me up? he said sounding extremely mad.

- You must see something. It's very important!

- No, let me be. I want to sleep.

Hadley started to get frustrated. Why couldn't he just listen to him and follow?

- For real now, you really have to see this!

- Leave me alone Hadley.

Now he became angry. Sure, it was early in the morning, but he didn't care. Jaiden had to see this.

- Now you listen to me; he said angrily. You have to see this so follow me.

He dragged Jaiden from the bed to his father's bedroom and pointed towards the bed. Jaiden looked extremely chocked. Blinking a few times, he opened his mouth but no words came out. Hadley had a hard time not laughing at him but not wanting his father and Sierra to wake up he kept quiet.

- What?! Jaiden whispered after some time.

- I know, right? Do you think they are a couple now?

- I don't know; he said almost looking disgusted.

Why did he look disgusted? Was it weird that they slept together? Hadley didn't understand it at all, but he didn't want to ask. Instead he felt happy all of a sudden. Dad and Sierra maybe was a couple after all and that made him glad. He looked at Jaiden once again and now Jaiden looked happy too.

- What is it with you? he asked.

- What?

- You look disgusted in on second and now you're happy. Can't you just decide your emotions?

Jaiden laughed quietly and patted him on the head.

- You will understand when you're older; he said.

- Huh?

He didn't understand what he meant but acting as if he did he nodded his head. His stomach started to feel a little empty and he wanted breakfast.

- Well, should we wake them up? Hadley asked.

- No! We can't do that, they are going to kill us!
