Chapter 8 - Sigh

A few days later.

I was reviewing all the paper works I need to understand how to manage the finances of the Famille'.

"Didn't I tell you before?"

(Hmn?)

"Do I need to tell you again..."

I can hear Tegemi's voice from the hallway.

(she seems to be scolding someone over the phone.)

I get the feeling her voice is a little more tense than normal.

Thinking it's strange, I peer into the hallway.

"Yes, yes I now."

"Well, see you later..." she said while hanging up her phone, sighing a huge sigh.

(What a huge sigh, she seems to be distressed.)

(was that call from work?)

"Oh, Hi, Mina." she greeted noticing my head peeking through the hallway.

"S-sorry about that didn't mean to eavesdrop."

"No worries, are you doing something is my voice to loud, did I disturb your work?" she said looking troubled.

"N-no it's okay, I'm just reviewing the papers you gave me from the last time."

"Oh, that? How diligent well keep it up." She said heading upstairs.

(Her smile is a bit force, she must be stressed out by that call...)

And then, another night...

"Hello, Tegemi speaking."

"Yes...yes I now but...can we talk about this later?"

(Is she on the phone again?)

She's been on the phone quite often, talking to someone.

And this time she definitely sounds worried.

"Yes, Goodbye."

When she hangs up, she let's out a tired sigh.

(What's going on?)

"Umm, Tegemi? Is everything alright?"

When she looks at me, she smiles her usual smile.

"Yes, don't worry, Mina."

(Do I need to talk to her about that? I might be stepping off my bounds but what should I say?)

"Mina?"

"Umn...Tegemi."

"Are you sure, you're okay, you seems a bit distressed."

"Oh?!"

"It shows huh?" she said with a wry smile.

"Yes it does."

She appears to think of something for a moment.

"I'm sorry I just feel like you've had something on your mind recently and I just though you could use a help?"

"Mmm...Thank you for thinking of me."

She laughs gently, but her smiles seems far off.

"If you want, you can talk to me about it, I mean when you're worried about something or somethings troubling you it helps to talk to someone about it."

Then...

"Yeah, you're kinda right."

She looks distant for a moment, and then her eyes glances over, she looks determined as if she made a decision, and smiles gently.
