"What are you doing here?" Lilah asked as she and Thomas moved into the back room away from prying eyes. Thomas flashed her an amused smile and as she continued to stare at him, waiting for an answer, he finally spoke,

"I look out for you. Always will." He smirked, "I heard Dr. Jonathan Crane abducted you and tortured you for five months." he added with a serious expression. Upon hearing Jonathan's name, Lilah stiffened, How did he know about that? She thought to herself as Thomas watched her, almost analyzing her movements,

"You don't know anything." Lilah snapped. Thomas raised his eyebrow in question,

"Are you saying you weren't abducted and tortured?" He questioned.

"I'm saying, you don't understand." Locking eyes with him, her expression hardened, "What are you doing here, Tommy?" Once again ignoring her question. Instead he let out a laugh,

"My dear, is this love?"

"What are you talking about?" Lilah snapped, her patience was wearing thinner by the second. Thomas however continued,

"The prisoner falling for her captor. It's not unheard of. Plus, I've met Dr. Crane on numerous occasions. His work is remarkable. He was also my psychiatrist for awhile, back when he was just an intern." He smirked, looking at her as though he had finally solved her.

"I'm not in love with Jonathan." She replied,

"Debatable. But fine. We'll just let things play out then. Shall we?" Thomas nodded, leaning back against the wall.

"Answer me, Tommy. What are you doing here?" Lilah repeated once again, this time the question finally seemed to sink in.

"Ah, well, I noticed the crowd of Falcone's men all busily crowding in here. Plus, I figured that you would be here. That was, assuming that Dr. Crane was willing to let you off of your leash for some play time." He said, having the audacity to mock her. Lilah smiled in return,

"You're insane." She whispered, leaning towards him.

"You're not that much better than I." He replied in the same whisper. Looking down at his watch, he clicked his tongue, "I actually will have to be going soon, but I am very curious about your little relationship with Dr. Crane." He grinned lightly,

"We're business partners." She mused,

"You have some natural talent as a liar, Li." He said coolly, his eyes looking her up and down, "We'll see how much talent you have as a criminal."  Lilah smiled, using it as an attempt to hide the anger in her eyes.

"This city is the birthplace of liars and murderers. Anyone who is anything less is long dead and gone." She told him. Thomas remained silent, his eyes locked onto her before he slowly paced around her,

"All except one." He replied lightly, his tone had changed significantly, becoming a low growl. "Bruce Wayne has come back from the dead." He spat bitterly.

"He was your friend." She said in annoyance. She had always been rather irritated by his obsession with the billionaire.

"He made my life a misery. His happy family..." He seethed.

"You hate him because his father saved your mother when you cut the brakes to your parent's car." Lilah deadpanned. "But sure, that clearly makes him the devil."

"They deserved to die." Thomas replied with a slight frown as if it was an obvious fact she should have known.

"Plenty of people deserve to die." She shrugged, "I'm sure many will come to believe that I too deserve death." Thomas smirked,

"You've changed, Lilah. I like it."

"People change, Thomas. It's one of the tragic things of life." She replied nonchalantly, "Now, if you would excuse me. I have thugs to win over." Turning on her heel she began to walk away, only to be pulled back by Thomas who spun her around in his arms. He had a hint of madness in his eyes that made her sigh irritably, "Let me go." Lilah ordered,

"No." Thomas spat back, "I want your help. I want you to help me get revenge on Bruce Wayne." This time it was Lilah's turn to laugh,

"You moron. You will never get revenge on Bruce Wayne. He's Gotham's Favourite Son. Go back to playing your little identity games." She smirked, "That was something you were always good at." She added innocently. Narrowing his eyes at her, Thomas slapped her, causing her to fall to the ground with a thud, the taste of blood entering her mouth. Staring up at him, she narrowed her eyes, "Do you feel better now?" She asked him, spitting out the copper tasting liquid.

"I thought you would have understood." Thomas said, watching her with a cold expression,

"The amount of times I've heard boys say that to me." She muttered with a smirk, her mind going back to Jonathan as it often did lately. Forcing herself to her feet, Lilah wiped her mouth, "I'm not a thug for hire, Tommy. Go find someone else to play your games with." Thomas tilted his head, watching her for a few seconds before turning on his heel and walking over to a chair and picking up a tan colored trench coat before turning back to her,

"What does he have that I don't?" He asked.

"Who?" She spat back at him, holding her cheek,

"Jonathan Crane." He answered. Lilah paused,

"What do you mean?"

"I've known you since we were children. We were friends." He said, "You were my first crush. But you've chosen Dr. Crane over me. How does a stranger who tortured you come before an old friend?" Lilah quickly averted her eyes. She had missed Tommy dearly when he was first sent to Arkham Asylum when he was fifteen, he was Jeremiah Arkham's patient. That was the last time she had seen Thomas and yet, here he was, begging her for help, but she didn't care. It was times like this where she wondered if she had truly lost herself.

"It's complicated." She said, her eyes falling from his.

"It always is with you." Thomas replied before once again glancing down at his watch. "I do hope to meet up with you again. Perhaps even your boyfriend." He added, "Farewell, Lilah." Pushing past her, Thomas walked back towards the chaotic crowd, humming a distinct tune Lilah recognized as 'Hush Little Baby' before his tune was drowned out completely by the furious crowd she had to attempt to win over.
