Chapter 27 - Looking for Destiny

I run through the town, looking for Tegemi.

The rain clears, and the sky begins to brighten,

(I was fine to run out like that for a moment...)

"Where did she go?"

My body throbs from the pain of running.

(well, good news my body is still numb, my legs hurt though which is good, I can still run,)

I have to find Tegemi!

Just then...

My phone suddenly rang.

I look at the screen of my smartphone quickly.

(Miyoko?!)

*beep*

"Miyoko?"

"You dick! Get back here! Or you're in trouble mister!"

"That's what Kasumi said!"

"She don't talk much but you know you're in deep trouble when that comes from her."

"I'm...I'm sorry, but..."

"I know! That can wait!"

"We're all looking for Tegemi too!"

(Everyone!)

That word reassures me.

"Do you have any idea where Tegemi could have gone?"

"I might have an idea."

"Where?!"

"I'll just send you the coordinates."

"Coordi..what?"

*beep*

"Being father zone huh."

"I bet she went there..."

(Tegemi I'm coming)

I forget the pain that's been throbbing all over my body and head after her.

Almost out of breath, I run for a couple of kilometers arriving at...

At the small hidden park Tegemi and I visited on the way back from the aquarium,

The place that holds good memories,

(The aquarium's closed, so if she's anywhere she'll be here...)

I enter the park, and I see someone sitting alone on a bench.

"Hi..."

"Ah? Huh?!"

She looks up in surprise her faced flushed her eyes a bit swollen from all the crying she'd been probably doing.

There are tears still running down her cheeks.

"Hi, I knew you'd be here..." I said while catching my breath and holding all the throbbing pain in my body.

"Mina..."

She tries to say something but she looks confused, as she remain silent.

"I'm sorry..."

"I made you worry again...but please...leave me alone..."

I was left speechless for a moment.

"No."

"Huh?"

"I can't leave you here like this, Tegemi."

"I'm not leaving unless you tell me what's bothering you,"

She squeezes her hands, holding it close to her heart she looks like in pain as she starts to explain.

"I can't..."

"Huh?"

"It's my fault..."

(I knew it, I knew she'd blame herself for what had happen.)

"It's my fault that everyone important to me leaves!"

(Oh...well this is embarrassing...)

I stand in front of her shaking slightly trying to stand up straight for my legs is almost giving in.

"T-Tegemi..."

I gradually move close to her.

"Tell me what happened, Tegemi."

She looks unsure, as she tries to speak but she seems to find the right words to say...

But finally she makes up her mind, and looks up at me.

"Mina..."

Ready to hear her heart, I look at her in the eye. After a long pause she begins speaking slowly.

"Mom and dad..."

"It's my fault that they died..."
