001: No Longer The Fool

The last thing that Xiu Shinyi sees is a knife plunging into his chest, where his heart was.

Haha. Humans will never change! Shinyi scoffs in his heart.

As his body falls dead onto the cold hard ground, he could feel his body feeling heavier and heavier, eventually he loses all his senses. Shinyi curses in his heart, If given another chance, I will make them all pay for what they have done! Yusheng, Yijun, Qiuyue, Shunyu... I'm sorry. If only I could turn back time, I would do whatever I can to save you guys...

Shinyi falls deeper and deeper into the dark abyss, he doesn't know how long he's been out but he could feel his limbs again. Hm? Did I survive? ... That's not possible, I saw 'her' plunge a knife into my chest...

Shinyi could feel a warm light on his face and he tries to open his eyes. A view of a monotone white ceiling comes into view. Shinyi looks around to see a familiar room. I'm... in a hospital?

Shinyi couldn't help but be bewildered by what he saw, after the apocalypse occurred the hospitals became a red zone as it was one of the first places where the virus had spread from. Later on, they became the lair of the zombies.

Shinyi glances around at the spacious and high-class patient room that he was placed in, then his view gradually went down to his hands and his eyes widened. His hands and arms were no longer full of scars or callous, but it was soft and smooth.

Shinyi stares at his hands as he becomes deep in thought. Have I somehow travelled back in time? This was just like back then...

Shinyi glances around, behind the IV dripping stand is a digital clock. Shinyi smiles bitterly. May 23, 2XX1. 9 more years before judgement day befalls onto humanity and the world becomes a hell hole...

Shinyi couldn't help but think that everything that he saw was nothing but a dream, but he knows better than to believe such a naïve thought. The pain that he felt was too real to be just a dream, the anger, sadness, and desperation that he felt couldn't just be written off. Otherwise how could he face Yushen and the others if he disregards them so easily.

Since he has been given another chance to live, he'll take it. Even if the day comes where the apocalypse doesn't happen, it would be better to be prepared than to be caught off guard. Just as Shinyi is planning on what to do, the sound of the VIP patient room slides open.

Shinyi glances up and sees a young girl with long curly sunflower blonde hair tied up into two ponytails with two large silver almond eyes, she has a naïve and adorable look to her. Next to her is a young man with short straight platinum blonde hair and two sparkling emerald eyes. The two of them are in their school uniforms and both have their backpacks on their backs.

Six eyes stare at each other in silence, only the sound of the hospital monitor could be heard. A loud voice comes from the hallway behind the two, "Yue'er, Yu'er, why are you two standing by the door?"

The young girl with long curly locks turns towards the voice and points in, "Da-Dage... Yi'er w-woke up..."

Two voices exclaims in the hallway, "EH?!"

The sounds of rushing footsteps come closer and closer to the room. Two young and handsome looking men appear behind the first two. The taller one had short light golden blonde hair with two sharp phoenix hazel eyes and the one next to him had a similar hair cut, but had light ash blonde hair. He had a much gentler and soft demeaner to him and he had light grey eyes.
