Lonzo and I stand there looking at each other.

"So, are we gonna go talk or are we going to stand here?" Lonzo asked looking away from me.

"Let's go talk." I start walking towards the food court.

Lonzo and I sit at a table in the corner and I begin to talk.

"Look, Lonzo, I know you probably want nothing to do with me anymore, and I don't blame you for that!" I glance at Lonzo who is staring at me. "I'm sorry I lied to you, I didn't think we'd take things as far as we did. I should've told you- I- I just didn't want to lose you!"

I feel my eyes getting watery.

"But now I see that either way, I would've lost you!" I rub my eyes.

"Lani, I'm upset that you lied to me, but I don't want to lose you either." Lonzo says causing me to look at him.  "You're my best friend, you know everything about me!"

I look at Lonzo and I stay silent.

"I like you for you Lani. I mean, I can't date you right now, but I'm willing to wait-" Lonzo pauses. "H-how old are you?"

"Seventeen,"

"I'll wait a year for you!" Lonzo says. "You're worth it."

I smile at Lonzo and he returns it.

I look at him still worried.

"I'm sorry about how I reacted, I was just shocked and I didn't know how I felt!" Lonzo says.

I hope he really means what he is saying, I think to myself.

"We're good!" Lonzo says grabbing my hand.

Danni and LaMelo walk over to us and they sit down at our table.

"So, how's everything in Lani and Lonzo world?" LaMelo asked.

"It's good," I glance at Lonzo, "we're good!"
