Straddling Abel's lap we watch some Dragon Ball Z fights on YouTube while we smoke a blunt and wait for our breakfast to come.
A ding from Abel's phone he reaches for it, and I hear him mumble, "Oh shit, she finally did it"
I look down on him blowing out a cloud of smoke as I hand the blunt back, "Who did what?"
Putting the blunt out Abel turns his screen to face me, and I see a headline that reads:
Bella Hadid and The Weeknd call it quits.
Taking Abel's phone, I skim the article before summarizing it to him, "So it basically reads that for the past few months you and Bella haven't had much time for each other causing the spark in your relationship to fizzle. Aside from being unable to coordinate your schedules Bella also didn't like the constant distance. Well, I'm glad you guys agreed to stay friends" I hand his phone back.
Laying his phone to the side he sits up to wrap his arms around my waist as he kisses me, "Yeah but you know what this means right? It's finally just you and me now"
I wrap my arms around his neck with a big smile, "Finally"
Abel runs his nose along mine, "How long do you wanna wait to fully come out?"
I think about it for a second, "Lets give it until my birthday. That should be a good amount of time for your fans to get over the shock of the break up and possibly begin to warm up to me"
Abel pulls back to see me, "You wanna wait seven months? Why are you so considerate of their feelings? Why do you care so much if they accept you or not? I'm in love with you, isn't that enough?"
"It is but you have to think about how it'll look if we come out so soon, it'll look like I took you from her"
"No one knows who you are for them to come to that conclusion. Look," Abel takes my hands intertwining our fingers, "how about we start with hanging out in public first? You said you don't want to hide anymore."
"And I don't but-"
"Then it has to start now not later" he cuts me off, "Nava, baby, you can't worry about what they're going to say about us. It's not all going to be positive no matter how long we wait, not everyone is going to like that I'm with you and I don't give a fuck; you shouldn't either"
I stare deeply into his eyes knowing he's right I'm just nervous. Once we come out as a couple I know things for us will never be the same.
"So how do we go about this?"
"Like I said before, we start hanging out in public a lot more. We'll have to be careful when it comes to the affection but when people start seeing us together it won't be much of a surprise when they finally realize I'm with you"
Seeing his point I nod my head in agreement, "Okay... I can do that"
I'll just have to learn to accept people's opinions on me whether they're good or bad.
Kissing both my hands Abel pulls me close to kiss my nose and I giggle, "I'll admit it's going to be weird at first. Everyone is gonna wanna know who you are, where you came from, how we got together, all that shit and I really need you to trust me when that happens"
