26 - purple

"Hey Audrey."

"Ryan?"

"Yup."

"Why do you have August's phone again?"

"He gave it to me to go try on suits."

"Suits? Like for the end of the year dance?"

"Yeah. So I heard you're going with him."

"That's the plan..."

"You don't sound very excited. What's up?"

"I'm just kinda stressed with stuff going on right now. And I'm sick."

"Have you gone out dress shopping yet?"

"I've looked at a few but I'm not sure which one to get."

"Well, what color do you want to wear?"

"Why?"

"So you and him can match."

"Oh. I have a few pictures..."

"Send then to me so we can hurry this up. He's taking forever in the dressing room."

"Ok. One second."

- Audrey sent 3 messages -

"The last one for sure."

"Really? I kinda like that one too."

"It would go great with the suit he has on now."

"Let me see."

- August sent a message -

"See?"

"I like that."

"Thank god. He's been switching between this silver and dark blue suit for like...fifteen minutes straight. I'll let him know."

"Can I talk to him?"

"Yeah hold on."

"..."

"..."

"Here."

"What?"

"It's Audrey."

"..."

"..."

"H-Hey Auddie. What's up?"

"I like the purple one."

"The p-purple what—purple suit?"

"Yeah. It goes well with a dress I was looking at."

"Ok. Yeah. I'll get that one then."

"Purples my favorite color."

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah. Did you know that purple represents creativity, pride, and independence?"

"I did not know that."

"It also means other things...but those are the meanings that stood out to me."

"Why's that?"

"I've always been told that I'm a creative person, making up ridiculous stories as a child. Ones about princes saving princesses and stuff like that. I also take pride in the things that I do. I've visited many children's hospitals, helping out in anyway that I can."

"That's amazing, Auddie."

"It's sad seeing little girls and boys that sick, having to live off of feeding tubes. Can you imagine what that would be like?"

"No, I can't."

"Well I can..."

"What's that suppose to mean?"

"Well..."

"Auddie."

"What are you getting at?"

"I-I just meant that I can sort of imagine what they're going through. My grandma Doris had pancreatic cancer. So, seeing her go through that makes me feel like I some what know what they have and are having to endure."

"Oh. I totally thought you were leading to something else—"

"What? No. No, I'm not that sick haha. Just a cold."

"Thank god. I was about to have an anxiety attack in the middle of the store."

"Yeah. I'm ok. I'll be ok."
