"This is nowhere near as good as Eddie Chang." Alex sighed.

He had been pushing around his chicken Alfredo- correction, very fucking expensive chicken Alfredo, for the past thirty minutes.

"This meal costs more than you make in a day." I replied, but he just scrunched his face up in a disapproving way and set the plate aside.

This little shit.

"Jesus, I hadn't even realized we were coming up on 6:30pm." Alex noted. I glanced down at my wrist watch to confirm, and sure enough, Alex and I had been here the entire day. My eyebrows furrowed slightly in confusion. I never lost track of time this easily.

He was looking up at me, attempting those big puppy dog eyes as he silently plea to leave. I caved in almost immediately and gave him a nod. We were pretty much done for today anyways.

"You can head out. Don't forgot to swing by my place early tomorrow to pick up my dry cleaning." I added. Alex's smile dropped as he quickly flipped it to frown at me.

"Im starting to think there are staggering parallels between being an assistant and a slave." He grumbled. I chuckled at his words. Little did he know this was the first time I had ever ordered food for anyone else, let alone my assistant. So far I had treated him better than any assistant I ever had.

I wasn't sure how I had ended up at the front steps of a goddamn chateaux the next morning.

But here I was.

Staring at the gates of what was just shy of a mansion.

Correction: it was definitely a fucking mansion.

"Good day, sir. I assume you are here for Sir Ivanov's clothing?" The voice had startled me out of my whits, but successfully managed to bring me back to reality. There was a man walking promptly towards me, and as he arrived, the man stuck his hand out for me to shake. "Hello. I am Nathaniel, the caretaker. Follow me."
