Connor and I had been at my parents' house for nearly a week, and we decided that it could be fun to meet up with a few of my closest high school friends one evening.

I parked the car. Connor and I got out of the car and went into the bar. Connor opened the door for me and we stepped inside. I saw two of my friends in a large booth in the back corner of the room. My high school best friend waved eagerly at me, and I quickly walked over to her. She pulled me into a bone-crushing hug. "(y/n)! I missed you, bitch!"

I hugged her back. "I missed you too, Gabi!"

I pulled away and waved to the other friend. She was always the quiet one. "Hey, Jasmine."

She smiled and gave me a small wave back. "Hey. It's good to see you again."

Gabi looked behind me. "Is this the boyfriend?"

I smiled and stepped back, touching Connor's back. "Yeah. This is my Connor. Connor this is Gabi and Jasmine."

Connor smiled politely. "Hello. It's a pleasure to meet you, Gabi and Jasmine."

Gabi smiled and sat back down. "I like him already."

Connor and I sat across from them, Connor on the inside of the booth. We talked for a while until the last friend came in. "Isaac! Hey!" We had actually dated in high school, but we remained close friends after we broke up

He smiled and sat down next to me. "Hey, (y/n). Is this Connor?"

"Yeah. Connor, this is Issac."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Isaac."

Isaac reached over me to shake Connor's hand. "Nice to meet you, too." He sat back in his seat and rest his arm on the back of the booth. "So how are things going for you two?"

"Great. I couldn't ask for anyone better."

Connor smiled at me. "I feel the same way."

I smiled back. "What about you guys? You guys currently dating?"

Jasmine was the first to respond. "I guess you could say that," she said as she smiled and showed her left hand, revealing a beautiful diamond ring.

I gasped and grabbed her hand to take a closer look. Connor looked at it, too. "Jasmine! You're engaged?! Who?"

"Do you remember Liam?"

"The guy who always had his amazing artwork on display around the school?"

She nodded. "Yeah. He works in digital design now."

I smiled and let go of her hand. "Of course he does. Well, congrats! I didn't know him super well, but he seemed like a really nice guy."

She smiled back. "He is."

I looked at Gabi. "What about you? How are things with Trinity?"

"All good. I still love her."

I nodded. "Awesome. Isaac?"

"Ah, it doesn't matter."

"What do you mean it doesn't matter? It matters."

He shrugged. "I had a bit of a falling out with her, so it doesn't matter right now."

I frowned. "Sorry to hear that."

He waved it off. "No worries. I'm glad the rest of you are happy." He gave me a quick friendly side hug. "Just keep radiating positivity, will ya?"

I giggled. "Sure thing." I felt Connor grab my hand under the table. I glanced at him. "Something wrong?"

He shook his head. "No."

I narrowed my eyes at him, but I wasn't going to insist. "Okay..."

We continued to laugh and catch up for the rest of the evening. Connor seemed to have something bothering him, but I didn't want to say anything until we left. I said my goodbyes and hugged my old friends, and Connor and I left the bar.

When we were walking to the car, I decided that I should ask, "Connor? What's wrong?"

He didn't look at me. "I should probably drive since you had some alcohol tonight."

"Sure, but don't change the subject. I know something's bothering you."

Connor opened the passenger door for me. "It's nothing."

I closed the door and leaned against it to look into Connor's deep brown eyes. "You're lying. Why? Tell me what's wrong."

He broke eye contact and looked at the ground between us.

I cupped his cheeks and lifted his face to look at me. "Connor. Tell me. Please?"

He averted his gaze again. "You and Isaac seem really close."

"Well, yeah. We were good friends."

He seemed to be wearing a look of sadness. "I didn't like the way he looked at you and touched you."

"Connor? Were you jealous?"

He pulled his face away and looked away again.

I sighed and wrapped my arms around Connor's torso. "Come on, Con. You don't need to be jealous. You know that I love you."

He frowned. "I know. I just can't help it. You're mine. No one else's."

I looked up at him. "Connor. I love you and only you. I will only ever be yours, got it?"

He put on a soft smiled. "Got it."

"That's my smart and handsome boy." I got on my tiptoes to kiss him.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. When we pulled apart, Connor still held me tightly and gazed into my (e/c) orbs. "I love you."

"I love you, too. Now let's get back to the house."

He let me go, and I got into the car. Connor went around to the driver's seat and got in. He glanced at me before starting the car. "You think I'm handsome?"

I smiled. "The handsomest."

"I don't think that's a word."

"Me neither." I giggled.

(This "Meeting the Parents" section is going longer than I expected. It's probably just one or two more parts left, though. Also, if you have any requests, lemme know, and we'll see how it goes.
