"if you would've put that gun down,
then he would've been here right now"

Time froze for Taeyong. He could see the one inch piece of metal coming towards him, like a shooting star in the night. He just couldn't believe how something so small, could have such a big impact.

He didn't want to die, but no one who gets murdered wants to die. No one wants to leave their family, and their best friends, or their pets.

But Taeyong didn't have any of that. He only had Jaehyun. Jaehyun. Everything he said and did was for Jaehyun.

"I love you, Jaehyun," he whispered, imagining those to be his final words. He looked at the male beside him, and smiled as he got the response he had hoped.

"I love you, too. And I'm sorry."

Taeyong's smile faded as he watched the man he loved jump in front of him. 

Maybe he screamed, maybe he didn't. All Taeyong could hear was his breaking heart. He could almost feel it snap, and it made him wonder if you could die of a broken heart, because he definitely would have.

He didn't feel Mark drag him away and out of the building. His eyes were hazy and fogged, one image only visible in his mind.

Jaehyun.

The only thing he had left, had just left him.

That wasn't how it was supposed to go. He and Jaehyun were supposed to escape and live together peacefully. They could get a house, and get married, adopt a dog.

He couldn't feel anything. All he could do was move, and he hardly even noticed that. He felt like a puppet being mindlessly pulled by invisible strings.

Jaehyun.

Jaehyun's gone.

"He left me..." he whispered, "How could he leave me!"

He screamed and he cried and he kicked. His world was gone, his anchor to life, his savior, had been taken away.

Taeyong was left alone, broken and helpless.

The hole in his heart could never compare to the size of the bullet that caused it.
