I don't know what possesed me to do it! Here's what happened.
I padded up to Loonpaw, resting my muzzle on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry she died. I can't imagine what it would have felt like if Bluebellwind died."
After a moment of silence, Loonpaw spoke, "They were close, you know. My mother and yours."
I hadn't known that but I didn't say anything. I just licked her ear reassuringly before beginning to pad away.
"Wait." Loonpaw mewed, so softly, it sounded like the breeze. "Stay here. It's comforting to have a friend."
She had called me her friend. It was my first friend in the clan, other than Cougarstride.
