A/N: I'm just going to stop telling you when the chapters are longer. I think it's going to be about 3,000 words every other chapter, if not already every chapter. This chapter, however, is going to be 4,000 words. You're welcome?
Enjoy it either way!
...
I couldn't believe it at first. One of Nikolai's men had came in and released us from the cell, answering none of our questions, nor saying anything at all before he walked out. About ten minutes later, the door had opened, and there stood each of our familiars. I couldn't wait to finally be able to hold him in my arms again, so of course I didn't make any attempt to. Crowley was the first to walk in with Ferid and Koutorou following suit, and when Krul had asked how they got Nikolai to allow them to come here, Crowley had mentioned something about Yu bargaining.
This made me a little angry, but of course I didn't make that the first thing on my mind when Yu finally walked in after being held up by Nikolai, which makes my blood boil even now just thinking about it.
The whole room is a monotone gray with dim lights anyway, so each of us just return to the cell, though the gate is still wide open. It doesn't matter if we're inside or outside this cell, because we're still trapped and we all know it, so there isn't really a difference where we go.
Krul, of course, apologized for making Yuichiro think she was mad at him for his past, when really, she was just trying to say hello, which I could tell made Yu relieved and yet still fearful he's done something wrong.
I return to my usual spot by the bars, to which I bring Yu along with me. Mostly for the satisfaction of torturing him until he tells me what he bargained for to be able to see us by making him sit between my legs while I play with his hair and ears. If not already known about Yu, his tail and ears are very, very sensitive upon being touched, as are most foxes. But damn, he's lasting longer than I expected, though his body heat has raised, and his face has become completely red with a deep blush. I'm going to get what I want, and I'm going to enjoy torturing him this way and won't stop until I get what I want from him.
It doesn't take long for Shinoa and Mitsuba to crawl over to watch, to which Yuichiro attempts a growl but fails miserably- although the sound he makes instead is indeed cute. "Adding kinks already?" Shinoa teases as Krul and her familiars come over to watch.
"So. Any new information, Mitsuba?" Krul asks. "Because my familiars have given me plenty."
"It's all the same," Shinoa insists. "We weren't ever separated, and voiced our thoughts and opinions about everything to each other all the time after coming to the agreement we should do so."
At this point, we're all sitting in a close circle, chit-chatting (about important things) and catching up, because Yu doesn't want to tell me jack about anything that happened. "Can you stop pleasuring your boyfriend for a moment, Mika?" Mitsuba asks as she and Shinoa sit in a similar position. "He's got the outside information none of the other familiars have."
Ferid nods. "He was with Nikolai until last night. He mentioned something about only being able to see us once every three nights."
Yu's ears would be lowered flat against his head if I weren't still messing with them. But still, hearing he's kept in a completely different place, and with Nikolai of all places, makes me frown and my blood boil. It's almost been a week since Yu and I have been here, and we've gotten nowhere while Nikolai is furthering his studies in his Heaven's Crown experiment and preparing for it to go down sometime in the near future, I fear.
I momentarily stop playing with Yu's ears, hoping now he'll give me a real answer to what I want to know. I know he wants to protect me, especially from the things he's done in the past, and now the things he's allowed Nikolai to do to him. Twice in his life now he's been taken advantage of and raped. I dare not fear saying the truth. Like humans have the same problem, so do us gods, and even the familiars and yōkai, too. I say humans are vulgar and indecent at times like this, but so are supernatural and mythical creatures like us. "Yu," I mutter, to which he flinches just barely against my touch as I place a gentle, reassuring hand upon his back. "Why won't you tell me what happened?"
