Chapter 22
"They are going to celebrate in a place near by, let's see Emily and the girls if they are going as well." I said casually as I approached them, I can feel my friend's inner screams and my parents stares.
"I'll go see them." Emma replied.
"Yeah we better get going, you coming?" Van asked me, raising her eyebrows.
"Yeah...I won't be late." I said to my parents smiling a bit. They didn't smile though.
"Ummm..I think we should talk Tessa." Mom said awkwardly, kinda serious.
"Can't it wait for tomorrow, we just won the final match mom." I said to her. I don't know if I'm being rude, not like I care so much. I know what she wants to talk about but I don't think she has the right to say anything, she and Dad never cared about me and eventually they made it clear and left me. They only text me two days before they come home or tell me they sent me money or payed some bills.
So, now when they want to act like real parents I shall let them judge my life and interfere in it. That's unfair...
Some times I really miss them and cry so much because of what they have put me through...I don't know whether to give them another chance and risk getting broken by them again. My mom stared at me then to Dad and nodded closing her eyes.
"Fine, just try not to be late, your mom wants to talk with you ." Dad said smiling weakly.
"Okay, thank you for coming though." I added smiling a bit, they smiled as well.
As I was walking with the girls. I feel tears threatening to fall.
"Are you okay." Emma asked holding my hand, just as my tears started to fall.
"Can we sit on a bench for a bit." I said quietly, wiping my tears. We sat on a football bench and both of them hugged me, I cried silently. I'm crying because I feel sorry for myself, for having these parents, for being weak and letting my thoughts take me over, for not knowing what to do with my parents and for letting them change my mood and affect me this much even after all this time, how pathetic.
"It's going to be okay I swear." Emma said quietly, rubbing my back.
"Yes..we're here for you." Van added. This is not the right time for being sad, I don't want them (my parents) to ruin my happiness, I'm stronger than this, I'm going to celebrate with the people I love, because we won the season we worked hard for and I should be so happy right now, I'm stronger than this. I took a deep breath and wiped my eyes again. Van gave me a tissue.
"I'm better now, thank you." I said trying to smile before I stand up.
"If you aren't in the mood to celebrate we can go to my place, and chill." Emma said, I know she means what she says.
"Yeah, or cry our eyes out, I don't mind either." Van added smiling to me.
"No, I don't want to ruin the night for you, also I want to take my mind off this." I responded, smiling a bit.
"You sure? I swear It's okay, it's not the last party ever." Van said looking to my eyes. I nodded to her.
"Okay, the offer is still there if you changed your mind tonight or at anytime." Emma said and I nodded again sticking to the smile on my face.
Chloe called, saying she would meet us there, she's going with Ivan. She didn't know yet about my small breakdown or the kiss if that matter. Yes the kiss.
"Girls listen up." I started, when we were in Emma's car.
"Every detail please." Van replied grinning, she knows what I'm about to say. They look excited more than me back then.
