What was the new phenomenon going on in Harry Potter's world when he discovered that Huxley didn't wear nappies like him, Ron, and Neville, instead, the boy wore training pants? He discovered the phenomenon that was "potty training." He saw the amount of praise that Huxley received whenever he sat on the potty and Harry found himself quite tempted by it all. Normally, he avoided the bathroom unless he was actually taking a bath, simply because the toilet was a very odd item. It made loud noises, gushed water, and the hole seemed big enough to swallow Harry whole. Sometimes he would peer in, examining the clear water and he was tempted to push on the lever that flushed the toilet, but more often than not, he would chicken out and run out.
However, seeing Huxley use the toilet, as he was no bigger than the rest of the boys, Harry was able to witness that Huxley didn't fall in and when he flushed, he wasn't swallowed whole. He and Ron had investigated the area a couple of times as they left Neville with the job of flushing while they examined the flushing procedure. And then one day, Harry decided out of the blue that he was ready and it all started with him taking off his nappy while Renata and James were in the living room.
Just a couple of days prior, his parents had returned home with an exciting new creature, a male kneazle that Harry was told they were going to keep. Much to his delight, he was introduced to the magical feline creature, that Renata had taken to name "Leone" due to his lion-like appearance, despite his grey speckled fur. Both James and Renata had been tending to the Leone, making sure that he was comfortable inside the home when Harry decided to make his nude appearance.
Renata had been fixing a bad for Leone, helping the blind kneazle over when Harry came strutting out and dropped his nappy to the floor. For a few moments, she was left quite speechless as she wasn't expecting that of all things. Thankfully she didn't have to cover Leone's eyes to spare him the seen of seeing the Boy Who Lived in all of his glory. James had been in the kitchen grabbing some treats for Leone, only to see their son standing completely naked.
Looking over her shoulder, Renata could see the confused look on James' face, bringing her to grin.
"Well, it seems Harry takes after you in more ways than one," she chuckled, leaving James to turn red in the face as he remembered the incident that she was referring to. He grimaced before shaking his head and making his way over to Harry, kneeling down to his eye level.
"Harry, what are you doing?" he asked in a gentle voice. "Your nappy is still perfectly good and dry-"
"No! No nappy!" Harry folded his arms over his chest. "I want to go potty!"
James was quiet as Harry sudden demands to use the potty had come out of nowhere and caught him off guard. If he was being completely honest, James had to admit that he had completely neglected the idea of potty training Harry as it was something that had slipped his mind. He had just become so accustomed to changing Harry over the last couple of years that it had become second nature almost.
