Weeks had passed since the first lot of flying lessons and thankfully, nothing much seemed to have happened drama wise, which was something Euphemia was incredibly thankful for.

She stayed hanging around with Eileen when in view of Walburga and her cronies but whenever she had free time, Eileen would cover for her and she would go and hang out with the others.

Lessons were going well and Euphemia was actually enjoying the whole aspect of learning and studying, which she had originally not enjoyed due to her being insecure and worried about what her classmates would think of her.

But now? She honestly couldn't care less whether people liked her or not, if they wanted to judge her for her last name then that was their problem, she wasn't going to make a fuss about it or get all upset over it. People like that just weren't worth her time.

Walburga still frightened her a little though, the girl seemed to be taking after the older cousins of the Black Family and that was the reason why Mia made sure to stay in the good books of both Druella and Walburga because they would tear her down and trample all over her if she gave them the chance.

And Heather still took to giving Euphemia dirty looks whenever she passed her in the corridor or interacted politely with her in the common room and dormitory.

Mia assumed she just hadn't gotten over the whole incident when she spat at her. Oops.

September still had the warm summer breeze drifting around along with small showers of rain and whirling leaves that swept around the grounds of Hogwarts but October was slowly crawling in with the colder air and more and more leaves were falling off the trees about them.

October brought the Quidditch fever with the colder weather and the majority of the upper school were soon buzzing about the upcoming match between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff.

Euphemia didn't really care though, she knew Minerva had tried out for the Gryffindor team but hadn't managed to gain a place, probably because her skills were limited due to her only being in first year.

Charlus and Florean had also both tried out for their respective teams but neither had gotten on, most likely for the same reason as Minnie.

"It's quite good to see Charlus be taken down a peg or two," Pomona had muttered to Mia the very night that Charlus hadn't got onto the Gryffindor team and had actually sulked in the corner of the gang's hideaway behind the tapestry.

Mia couldn't help but agree, all the gossip after the incident during the flying lessons had gotten to Charlus' head and he was seen as a reckless troublemaker now, just because he had broken a broomstick.

It was ridiculous to Euphemia but the rest of the school seemed to glory in gossip and it had been the most discussed topic at Hogwarts throughout the rest of September.

Due to all of this, Charlus had gotten even more insufferable and arrogant and had even taken to bragging during the times Mia could come and hang out with the gang.

Every time she came, he made a point of talking about himself and showing off which did kind of mar Euphemia's time with her friends, though everyone else found it funny that she got so annoyed about it.

The thing was, she could hardly hang out with them without being in the tapestry hideaway or forever looking over her shoulder to see whether anyone was watching. Eileen covered for her but sometimes Mia feared it wasn't enough.

The time she spent with her friends was precious and if every time she came to come and hang out with them, Charlus wouldn't shut up, then it seemed like a waste of time to Mia.
