Mama Zhao had gotten used to having one more person in their family.

Especially when the additional member was a shy yet thoughtful scholar. That man was much better than her ungrateful son by many folds. Ever since Mama Zhao educated herself about homosexuality with the help of the internet, it could be said that she finally straightened out the knot in her heart.

Now, it was already past ten o'clock in the morning. Mama Zhao reckoned that it wouldn't take long until both men arrived.

Back when Zhao Yun Lan was still single, it would be near lunchtime every time he visited home. It was obvious that he went back just to eat for free.

Since Zhao Yun Lan got together with Shen Wei, they would come earlier when they came to visit. Shen Wei would also show some consideration and help her in the kitchen as they filled the table to the brim with various dishes.

And that's the reason why Mama Zhao doubted whether or not Shen Wei had problems with his eyes. How could this outstanding child possibly fall in love with my stupid son?

Zhao Yun Lan's voice when he entered the house was louder than any other times. He shouted towards the kitchen while dragging Shen Wei rustlingly by his arm to change his shoes into slippers, "Mom, it's snowing heavily outside!"

"It has started snowing since an hour ago." The gentle voice of a female echoed from the kitchen, "You guys should rest first. I will finish peeling the shrimps."

"Where's dad?"

"He went out for a walk."

"It has been snowing heavily since this morning. Why is he taking a walk in this kind of weather?" Zhao Yun Lan was speechless, "Did he bring an umbrella?"

"He brought one. He's been out for quite a while. I guess he'll be back soon." Having said that, Mama Zhao heaved a profound sigh.

Zhao Yun Lan watched as Shen Wei brought the gifts into the house with ease-who was bowing his waist to put the things nearby the cabinet against the wall-before letting out a silent sigh.

His dad and Shen Wei had the same bad habit, both were awkward and uneasy. No matter how many times they met, they couldn't get along well with each other.

Zhao Yun Lan used his tiptoe to nudge at Da Qing plump ass and asked him with a low tone, "Say, what's going on with them?"

The sleek, black cat shot a glare towards Zhao Yun Lan before his fur bristled in annoyance and headed towards the kitchen with head held high.

"Meow~" Da Qing stretched his neck and mewed in a charming voice. He stuck up his tail in a coaxing manner as he circled around Mama Zhao's feet.

"Da Qing is also here?" Mama Zhao smiled and took a small tray from the table filled with fish sticks which she had prepared before. She then placed the tray in front of Da Qing, "Here, eat this."

Da Qing meowed at Mama Zhao in a flattering way. His bowed head gave off the façade of elegance, but he was actually wolfing down the given food.

Since Mama Zhao's hands were stained with the smell of shrimp, she could only rub at that thick, soft fur with her wrist and the back of her hands. This cat seemed to have grown fatter since he last came here. His four chubby and tubby limbs almost couldn't support the weight of that fat, ball-like body anymore. Come to think about it, this fat cat surely had a long life. She remembered that this cat had been beside Zhao Yun Lan ever since he was small.

Just as her train of thoughts started to head towards a questionable direction, that idea was suddenly interrupted by Shen Wei's arrival.

"Auntie," Shen Wei greeted her with a smile. His eyebrows were bent together pleasantly, revealing a shy expression especially favored by elder people, "Let me help you."

Mama Zhao's heart instantly warmed up in delight. Although she couldn't count on her foolish, shameful son, but there was this caring... daughter-in-law (?). Well, this is also nice.

Shen Wei agilely rolled his sleeves up. He dragged a small folding stool from behind the door and sat down on it. Sitting face to face with Mama Zhao, he helped her wash and clean the shrimps while chatting with the older woman with a low voice.

This man was different from her son, Zhao Yun Lan would get annoyed the moment she asked him about work. On the contrary, Shen Wei answered almost all the question she asked. He told her all the interesting stories at the university with a smile adorning his face. University life always brimmed with fervor of youth. Even Shen Wei, who was retelling the story, couldn't hold himself from laughing when he remembered the silly things that the students did. Despite only chatting for a while, but the spirit of youth had gotten into Mama Zhao and she suddenly felt younger by several years.

From time to time, Da Qing, who was sitting next to them, would interject their conversation with cute mews.

Compared to the warm atmosphere in the kitchen, Zhao Yun Lan was laying bonelessly on the sofa while munching on the snacks below the tea table. All of a sudden, he was struck with the lonely feeling of an abandoned child. Zhao Yun Lan laid for some time before he couldn't bear with the silence any longer. With a squid stick in his mouth, he stepped into his slippers and shuffled until he reached the kitchen. Leaning against the door, he was met with the scene of his mom chatting happily with his wife.

"Xiao Shen ah," Mama Zhao spoke with concern, "Why do you look... thinner? Is it because you are too busy with work?"

Shen Wei smiled bashfully while pushing his glasses up, "Not really..."

"Mom, don't just care for your daughter-in-law. Pay some attention to your son, too." Zhao Yun Lan put on an aggrieved look, "I've also gotten thinner."

"You still have the nerve to say that. Look at you." Mama Zhao said while scowling at him, "No matter how much I feed you, you never develop any muscle. What a waste."
