As the night proceeded, my suspicions of Mukul just seemed to grow. Ever since he spoke to that woman over the phone, he seems extra cautious of everybody - especially me. I can't put my finger on it.
Before I knew it the busy night ended. As I rode back home, the temptation to tell Siddharth about my suspicions was boiling. I have to tell him. This is Keerthi's life we are talking about.
"Siddhart-" I begin
"Yeah? What is it now?" He hushes
Why is he being moody?
"Um... It's just about Mukul?" I start
"Ugh....Nisha. What's your problem? You've been on about Mukul for how long?" He sighs in furstration
"No, it's just.... I heard him on the phone. He was talking a female" I explain
"So? A man can't have female friends?" Siddharth questions sounding angry
"No, they can....But it just...... seemed a bit off you know...... I am just not feeling it with Mukul" I say
"Please Nisha. I'm annoyed with your Mukul nonsense. The man is good, why are you being like this?" He growls
"Siddarth... I just has my suspicions, thats all. Nothing big. Don't be upset with me" I reply
"I'm get annoyed by your attitude? Don't you think I can select a good match for Keerthi. Seriously woman" He sighs covering his head
All of a sudden, Siddharth seemed angry. Why is he getting so tense over mukul?
I decided not to speak to him, else he'll get even more angry. Especially with Aunt Aadhya at the back, lets just say things would be better if she didn't hear us fighting.
By the time we reach home, I am exhausted to a point where I slump onto the couch ready for a good nap.
"Dear, it isn't good to sleep on the couch. Go upstairs and sleep. I'll see you in the morning" She instructs
"Ok" I listen heading upstrairs to our room, where Siddharth was already at .
As I walk in, Siddarth is already slumped on the bed with his arms folded
"Siddharth....?" I ask
"What??" He huffy
"I was just checking if you are awake" I whisper
"Well..thanks to you in am" He yells turning his back opposite to me
I decide that it's better not to approach him when he's in a bad mood, and head to sleep
Buzz
The phone vibrates, waking me from my well needed rest
I see a text from Keerthi, and immediately grab my phone. I click open whatsapp, wondering why she's texting me at this hour.
the text reads " Mukul is asking to spend the night with him? What do I say. reply quiccc"
My heart stops beating for a second.
Mukul is up to no good
