Lower Elementary (2/3)

The year progressed and Kirishima and Katsuki became closer with each other, they were naturally drawn to each other because of the soulmark that they share, they hung around with each other much more, study with each other together ( Katsuki tutoring Kirishima since his grades are low ) go to arcades together, Izuku didn't really need tutoring and he doesn't really like going to crowded places like the arcade

Summer came around and Katsuki thought that Izuku can hang around them again, Izuku doesn't

He keeps on coming up with half-assed excuses, he wasn't even that good at lying, he couldn't keep eye contact long enough, he fiddles with his shirt, for some reason, Izuku doesn't want to hang out with them anymore or at the very least. The greenette was avoiding them

They have no clue over why

At first Katsuki didn't think much of it but once he realized that yes, Izuku was avoiding the, he exploded into rage, practically searching the entire town for Izuku, or well, their entire neighbourhood, Kirishima, like the manly dude that he is, offered an alternative which was not that much better

Stalking Izuku

Stalking him was actually pretty hard, They don't know how but they're pretty sure Izuku knows that they're trying to follow him, the greenette goes into a crowded street everytime and they just can't keep their eyes on him or if not, he makes sudden turns and suddenly the path is split into two

One they they finally catch up to him

He's talking with someone

A boy with hair split into two, red and white

He brought him a bunch of snacks and bentos for both of them, the two eat under a tree together, sometimes, Izuku feeds the boy some of his food even though their bentos probably taste the same

"Your.... cooking has improved since the... first time" the boy blushed, looking away and stuffing some rice in his mouth

"Thanks" Izuku chirped, completely oblivious to it, seemingly just happy that his friend enjoys his food "I remember it, I can't believe I actually burnt the rice! But... you still ate it!" The boy shrugged

"It's free food.."

Katsuki was a lot of things, but he was not a saint and he was easy to become jealous

What's this? Izuku has been cooking food- apparently for a long time already and he wasn't first to taste it

He's been friends with Izuku ever since they were little, they always shared their snacks and food with each other

Why hasn't Izuku given him a home made bento too?!

Why does he choose to hang around with this kid more than them? What's so special about him

"My father... he- he noticed that you were bandaging me up every time I leave" Izuku stilled

"Don't worry, he doesn't mind, he likes that I'm... making connections? I don't know but he might want to meet you or something... I'm sorry" Izuku shook his head

"No it's fine, I don't mind, as long as I get to help you feel better I don't mind" Izuku smiled, the boy kept a poker face on

"What will you do if he hurts you?"

"Don't worry about me, you should worry more for yourself- have you been putting ointment on your scar?" The boy shook his head, Izuku frowned

"I knew it"

"I don't really.. have anything for it" Izuku smiled

"I know, come here, I bought this with my allowance, don't worry"

"You shouldn't waste money on me"

"It's fine! It's good practice anyways, I'm gonna become a doctor, remember?" Shoto nodded, they quickly finished their bento and Izuku gently rubbed the ointment on the burnt skin around his eye

"Tell me if it hurts" the boy nods

After awhile, Izuku finally was done, he kissed the boy's forehead before pulling away, the boy looked at him, dumbfounded

"What's wrong?"

".... Only my mom does that to me" Izuku frowned

"Oh... I'm sorry-"

"No it's fine, please keep doing it" Izuku's eyes widen and he grinned brightly, kissing him on the forehead again

Katsuki and Ejirou then had an emergency meeting, with just both of them of course

"Who the heck does that fucker think he is?! Stealing Izuku away from us like that.... he even gets to eat his homemade food! Izuku never gave us homemade food! What the fuck?!"

"Calm down man-"

"I AM CALM, IM SO CALM CAN'T YOU SEE HOW CALM I AM?!" Katsuki screeched, Kirishima sighed

"Look dude, I know you're upset and all but Izuku can have other friends-"

"He can have other friends as long as he doesn't ditch us for that friend! When was the last time Izuku spent time with us other than in school or when we visit him?!" Kirishima was quiet

"See?!"

"What do you want us to do about it? Izuku looked pretty happy to be with the guy"

"I'm talking to him"

"You sure?"

"Fuck yeah"

They didn't have to wait too long, the next day Izuku visits them directly, looking a bit shy, guilty and holding three small lunch boxes, at first Katsuki wanted to shoo him away but there's something about a cute, shy and nervous Izuku that he just can't say no to- Izuku smiles at them brightly as he was let in by Bakugou's mom

"Um I-I've been practicing c-cooking these past few months and uh- someone told me that it was um good enough so-"

"Don't you usually have somewhere else to be?" Katsuki snaps, Kirishima hisses and steps on his foot, Katsuki yelped

The damage was already done, Izuku's smile droops, looking incredibly guilty, Kirishima panics, Katsuki's eyes widen

"N-No dude it's fine! We totally don't mind Uh-"

"N-No I've... I know I haven't been spending time with you guys, I just thought that you didn't mind,  I'm sorry" he said with a frown

"Well uh, have this, I'll leave now" Izuku quietly placed the bentos on the counter, leaving after thanking Bakugou's mom

Kirishima quickly reached out for one, he opened it, it was a bit messy but there was clear effort in it, on top of the egg over the rice was badly drawn Katsuki, sesame seeds arranged to spell out his name, a small heart made of ketchup next to it, the next one was the same thing except with his, the third one was plain

Izuku probably wanted to eat with them

"Oi Bakugou, apologize to Izuku" He nudges the blonde, he huffed

"Izuku... he's happier with that guy...."

"Don't you want to continue being friends with Izuku?"

"I made him sad"

"Which is why you need to cheer him up, okay dude?"

"Okay..."
