Jake's POV:

I wanted to remove the picture from the wall and burn it down. I hated the way Amanda Carter was holding my handing my hand and smiling at me with fake love in her eyes. Her love was as fictitious as the smile on the faces of everyone.

"So what's the story of this picture?" Elena asked me looking curious.

I didn't think it was a right time to inform her about the painful tale of my childhood. I brought her here to disclose my secrets but that wasn't the only reason.

"This picture was taken before everything fell apart," I said.

She took my hand in her and grasped it tightly.

"Can you show me the house?" She asked.

I knew she was changing the topic because she guessed it that I didn't want to talk about it.

"Sure, princess," I said.

I took her to the balcony to show her the view of the beach. I glanced at her to find her staring at the beach in awe. I loved that look on her face.

Her brown hair was blowing in the air and there was a wide smile on her gorgeous face.

She looked perfect.

"It's so beautiful here. I would have never left this place if it was mine," she said.

"I kept this house all these years because it was beautiful. Other than that there's nothing appealing here." I said.

My words came out harsh dripping with hatred.

The smile vanished from her face and she closed her eyes.

I wanted to keep my mouth shut and didn't want to remind her how much I hate this place. But I realized it was impossible for me.

"I'm sorry, Elena. I don't want to make you upset. But it's just...."

"We don't have to stay here if you hate this place so much," she said.

I sighed and raked my hand through my hair. I thought about it a lot before coming here. I wanted to stay here and let go of my past. I wanted to stay here with her.

"I want to stay here with you. I knew you would like this place." I said.

"I want you to share everything with me. I want to know about your past. But it's difficult for me to see you hurt and angry,"

She placed her hand on my jaw and looked into my eyes.

I took the hold of her wrist and moved her hand to my lips. I kissed her fingers and she blushed. She had no idea how her words affect me and my heart.

"I don't want to hide anything from you that's why I brought you here," I said.

She moved closer to me and pressed her forehead on mine.

We closed our eyes standing there while wind caressed our faces.

"I'm hungry," She mumbled.

I laughed at the timing of her words.

She frowned at me then shot me a short glare. I sobered up.

"What would you like to eat Miss Edwards?"

"Anything would be fine," she said.

"There's a very famous restaurant here. But we will need to drive there." I said.

"Let's go. I'll drive," she said.

She dragged me out picking the car keys on the way. I guided her where we need to go and she drove us there all the while getting distracted by ice cream shops on the way.
