"So, Cooper told me you're talking to a girl."
"It's not like that."
"What do you mean?"
"She needed help, so I helped her—still am. In a way, she's helping me too."
"...sexually?"
"Really?"
"What's the story then?"
"You know that night when Kelsey came to my house and tried to fix things between us?"
"Yeah."
"Well, I went to the bar after and came back then got this call from a random number."
"What'd she want?"
"Nothing you need to worry about. But since then, we've just stayed in contact and last night..."
"What happened?"
"It was rough."
"Is that why you were late for work?"
"Yeah. Boss was on my ass but I didn't wanna tell him I slept in. Could you imagine what he'd do?"
"Fire your ass."
"Exactly. I can't lose my jobs."
"You're still paying off his medical bills?"
"Yeah. And only working as a barista won't cut it. Soon I'm gonna have to find something else that pays more."
"I could hook you up."
"Cam, I'm not gonna be a paramedic."
"Why not?"
"I have college classes right now. I'm not in a spot of my life to drop everything and become something that'll take up most of my time."
"After this school year then."
"I don't know..."
"Just think about it, alright?"
"Fine but I can't guarantee anything."
"Ok."
"Anyways, what's this girl like?"
"She's...different."
"What do you mean?"
"I don't know how to explain it. She's just...she's not like other girls—which isn't a bad thing at all. I guess we both have things in common."
"Like?"
"...never mind."
"What's her name?"
"Alex. Her names Alex..."
