Hungry. Aurora was hungry. So hungry that she decided it would be good idea to sneak out of the common room to go to the kitchens. Aurora checked around every corner for a professor or a ghost or the dreaded Mrs. Norris. Her sock covered feet padded down the hall as she walked to a painting of a bowl of fruit. She bent down and tickled the pear, just like Fred had instructed.
The painting opened and Rory was greeted with hoards of house elves. "Miss Harring! Miss Harring!" they all exclaimed, barring a few "I've told you lot countless timesto call me Aurora" She sighed with a small smile.
"Terribly sorry, Miss Aurora" Bonko, an elf, apologised. Aurora was about to tell him it was just Aurora but she before she could utter a word, "Aura!" two voices exclaimed. Aurora spun around and was faced with "Fred! George!" she exclaimed. The three pulled each other in for a hug.
"All right, let go you two. I'm starving" Aurora grinned "what can we get you Miss Aurora?" Bonko asked politely. "Just a bowl of ice-cream, love" she replied. Bonko scurried away into another part of the large kitchen. "We have something to show you" Fred grinned.
Aurora jumped up onto a counter top, like she did every other time, and swung her legs back and forth "show me then!" She said in excitement, rubbing her hands together in a mischievous manner. Fred pulled out a folded piece of parchment from his pocket and grabbed his wand. George was sat next to Aurora, licking a bowl of chocolate cake batter.
"Ready?" George mumbled to her; she nodded. "I solemnly swear I am up to no good" Fred said with his wand on the parchment. Little ink splatters began to appear all over the parchment.
"Messers Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, Prongs and Fluffy Proudly Present The Marauders Map" Aurora read allowed as the words appeared "blimey, this is cool" Aurora breathed out and looked between the boys.
"Though, I must say 'Wormtail' isn't a very nice nickname for someone" Aurora told them to which they nodded "food for Miss Aurora!" Bonko said, holding up a plate of noodles "thanks, Bonko" Aurora smiled before turning back to the twins.
"So... where did you get this?" Aurora asked, taking in a mouthful of food "whose to say we didn't make it?" George said, licking the last bit of batter from his spoon. Aurora gave him a look "okay, fine. We nicked it from filches office a couple years ago" George squirmed "that's what I thought" she smirked.
"What does this map actually do?" Aurora asked, eyeing up the moving ink "ah" Fred exclaimed and opened up the folded parchment. Aurora examined the map and noticed that all of the moving ink was actually footsteps. She looked at the names underneath and saw 'Fred Weasley', 'George Weasley' and lastly 'Aurora'.
Her expression of amusement quickly morphed int one of confusion and anger when she saw what the map had displayed. Rather than seeing 'Aurora Harring' she saw 'Aurora Harring-Black'
Auroradropped her bowl and the twins looked at her confused "we know its cool but we didn't think it was enough to render you speechless" George said "it's not that. Look" she said, pointing to her name "wait, that's got to be amistake" Fred said as he looked at the map closely.
A small message appeared at the top of the map in neat cursive writing.
'Messers Moony would like to remind Messers Fred and George that the Marauders Map never lies'
