THE HARSHNESS OF THE USUALLY HAPPY BOY CAUSED EVERYONE AT THE TABLE TO FALL silent. Jisung stared up at Hyunjin with wide eyes, his gaze darting between him and the boy sitting next to him.
Jaehyun smirked, wrapping his arm around the strawberry blond's shoulders, pulling him into his side again. "Chillax, bro." He smirked lazily at the glaring boy, and Jisung shifted awkwardly, trying to once again pull away from the other.
"Can't I be here if I wanna?" His smirk grew once he noticed how irritated Hyunjin was becoming. "Anyways, gotta go, Sunshine Boy." He grinned, and Jisung forced a smile, feeling immensely relieved when the older's arm slipped off of his shoulders, but not before his hand lingered on his back for a moment too long.
A shudder zipped through him and he leaned away only slightly to terminate the contact, but if he'd noticed, Jaehyun didn't comment on it. He winked before he left, confidently strutting out of the cafeteria.
Hyunjin growled as he passed, bumping their shoulders and sending the tall male staggering back slightly. After a few moments, he angrily plopped down on his seat next to Felix, and Jisung looked at him worriedly.
"Who is he, anyways?" Felix finally questioned, and Jisung was thankful he hadn't been the one who had to ask. "That no-good piece of trash is my brother." His nose wrinkled in disgust, before his eyes zeroed in on the strawberry blond. "Don't get involved with him," he warned, and the younger boy wanted to shrink in on himself because if anything, Hyunjin sounded intimidating.
He nodded slowly, and the three sat in tense silence until the warning bell rang.

Jisung took his regular seat in his History class near the back of the class, tapping his fingers nervously against the surface of his desk. His eyes kept darting between the window and the door as he anxiously bit his lip, because Hyunjin's words kept on floating around in his head.
"Hey." He looked up for a moment only to find himself face-to-face with Jaehyun. "... Hi." He felt rude to just ignore the greeting, so he settled for something a little bit less friendly than usual. Again, it seemed as if the older male didn't take the hint.
Jaehyun plopped down in the seat next to him, and it was the first time Jisung had ever been glad to see cranky Mrs. Kim enter the room. He could only hope that Jaehyun wouldn't start talking to him in the middle of class – he really didn't want to stay behind for detention again; his parents had let it slide once, but he'd promised it wouldn't happen again.
He made a show of diligently jotting down his notes, his eyes only straying from his paper to look up at his teacher as she spoke. Luckily, it seemed that Jaehyun didn't want a repeat of the last time either, since he kept quiet the entirety of the period.
When the bell rang, the strawberry blonde boy hurried to gather all of his supplies and stuff them in his bag to leave the classroom as soon as possible. He'd barely made it out the door when Jaehyun grabbed his wrist, successfully stopping him.
Before Jisung could even utter a word, Jaehyun was speaking, students annoyingly trying to get around them, but the older male didn't seem to care. However, being the center of attention of all his peers' side glances, the younger male was incredibly uncomfortable.
"Hyunjin told you to stay away from me, didn't he?" Jisung opened his mouth to deny it, even though he knew he couldn't. He just didn't want Hyunjin to get into any trouble with his brother – although he doubted Hyunjin cared much about that.
Jaehyun's eyes dropped to the ground for a moment. "Two years ago, I... I made a mistake, and he's hated me for it ever since," he mumbled, and Jisung felt his heart twinge in sympathy for the older boy.
