Emery's uptight and strung out on work. Luke's a musician with writer's block. When their apartment building experiences a black-out, they find themselves with nothing but each other's company and some bubble wrap.
For as long as Emery Wheeler can remember, books have been her life. Even when she had no one, she had the characters in her books. They were her saving grace, and now she gets to be a small part in creating that for someone else. She takes her job so seriously that not even her best friends can get her to relax.
When she met Luke Alexander, he was nothing more than her annoying neighbour but when an apartment black-out leaves them with nothing more than each other's company and bubble wrap there is no saying where it will lead.
What was only supposed to be one night, turns into more when they find themselves unable to avoid each other. While Emery tries, she can't seem to keep herself from wanting him and for the first time in her life, she finds herself wanting to relax.
